Surprised RJs best friend hates Danny Ainge too?

I take great pleasure seeing Reggie Jefferson on TV having a hard time talking positively about the Celtics.

I can't speak on Tatum but Brown is clearly able to do more on the court than i thought possible. Seems like if Brown had free reigns on another team he would be putting up 25 a night.

I think his point is neither will ever be as good as they could be having to share the spotlight? He maybe right, but they'll win more together then they would alone.

I think he means that the Celtics are too talented and share the ball too much to have any one guy reach their full potential as a primary scorer. If that's the case, then he's right, but it's certainly not a bad thing.

I don't want to jump the gun and over-react here, but at FACE VALUE it seems like a slap in the face to The Jays and BOS.

If this is the case then - I beg to differ - why are us Celtics Fans UPSET?

Channing Frye IS RIGHT, BTW.....after all:

Bill Russell never reached his potential in BOS....Cousy...Hondo...Tommy...Cowens...Sam Jones...DJ...Larry...Ainge....McHale...Chief...Pierce...IT4...Rondo...Ray...KG.....I'm sure I missed some lazy bums.

Even with Ray and KG they - indeed - reached their FULL potential in that they LEARNED how to sacrifice and WIN on a team other than the one that drafted them............

Let's be real...with THAT list of lazy, uncoachable underachievers if I were The Jays I'd be packing my bags NOW to get up out of BOS....

Our Boston Celtics - a cesspool of mediocrity.

thats most likely what he meant ,  but as aCeltics fan Im not trading three nice players away so one can be James Harden and score 40 a game .   I hate Rockets basketball.

Steve Nash left Dallas and the hindrance of Dirk to reach his full potential in Phoenix.  He won like two or three league MVPs.  Ask him if he would trad the MVPs to be a champion.  Barclay and Carl Malone are in the HoF both having achieved their full potential as individual scorers.  Ask them if they would be willing to move down a few pegs on the all time scoring list to be a champion.   This is a team game.  Brown and Tatum can be champions playing together and still make all star teams, all NBA teams, and even have HoF careers. We have had multiple all stars at the same time who won championships and made the HoF when all was said and done.

MJ and Pippen were able to reach their full potential while playing together on one team. So did Stockton and Malone. Bird and McHale. Curry, Klay and Dray.

I see no reason why our two guys can't reach their full potential together on the Celtics. ,,

I can see either of them signing elsewhere once they hit ufa for the first time. I have no inside info, but this front office (like the weather) is cold as ice and I can see somebody in their mid twenties having a greener (ironically) pasture in mind.

Especially Jaylen. He’s expressed blame toward the front office, regarding last year’s tribulations and seems to be a take no bs kinda guy. Just minor writing on the wall.

I can see Tatum signing with LA or making his own super team at some point. He’s been hanging with the stars since summer before year 2- definitely has the ego.

But who knows? The league changes with the wind nowadays.
My pic is now, and will be Fab Melo until he posts his first official NBA dbl-dbl. This may be permanent.

Stockton and Malone are completely different players, but I'm not so sure the other guys all reached their full potential.  MJ, Bird, and Curry all did, but I can't say for sure Pippen, McHale, and Klay did.  In fact, I think you could pretty easily argue all 3 of those guys would be thought of differently if they were the alpha and not the beta.

It's a good thing Frye was never on the Celtics, so we got to witness his full game unleashed on the NBA.

We should all consider ourselves lucky to have lived through the Frye/Lebron era over the last 15 years.

The quality of a player isn't measured by the counting stats and accolades that are easily changed by role, as long as both Jays play heavy minutes on the wing without a ball dominant player taking the ball away from too much from them, they'll reach their full potential (or close to it).
