In 2020 he’s averaging 11/9 in 20 minutes per game, shooting 62% from the field & 77% from the line, while being an average defender. Not including the Memphis game.

I love it

He's also quietly having a career year, per 36, for Rebounding, and FG%, which makes me think really he belongs in the second unit in smaller bursts. His energy around the basket is a bit crazy and useful.

His block percentage is hovering around 4% this season, which is pretty amazing considering his reputation as a sieve lol (ik that blocks and steals don't tell the whole story on defence, but it is surprising for a centre like Kanter to put up some gaudy numbers in that department).

Sure does.

Love what he gives us - in addition to his intensity.

I remember in OKC he was quite the bench dynamo for a period there

i think this is one more case of CBS putting a player in the best position to use his talents. evan turner was another such case.

coming off the bench, with specific matchups, playing in specific situations has paid off for Kanter. it has allowed his outstanding offense to shine and his poor defense to be covered up....mostly.
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

This. He did this with Tyler Zeller, Jared Sullinger, Jae Crowder, and Avery Bradley too.

I used to hate watching Kanter play. But he is quickly becoming one of my favorite Celtics.

CBS deserves some love. He has created careers for players, some of which likely wouldn’t have one without him, or tremendously boosted their stock:

- Evan turner
- Jae Crowder
- Enes Kanter
- Daniel Theis
- Brad Wanamaker
- Avery Bradley
- Isaiah Thomas
- Jordan Crawford

I’m sure there’s more...

Agreed.

Kanter is a situational player.  He's a really good situational player, but he's still a situational player.

It helps for me that he's a likable, good natured guy.  I'd resent his defensive lapses more if he were an obnoxious or unpleasant personality like Dwight or Kyrie.

Which is fine.

The situational piecemealing at the center position this season has been more than acceptable for this team.
