I think I feel as good as I could possibly feel about the team with the understanding that they currently don't have the pieces to be a threat to win the East and it's not clear right now how they would acquire those pieces, unless one of the guys they has now makes a jump.

That sounds negative, but I actually feel pretty good about the team.  I just think we'll all need to be able to find the joy (again) in watching a team that doesn't really have the juice to go farther than the 2nd round.

A team that is fun to watch and exciting on a nightly basis would be a major upgrade over last season, so I'm not complaining.

I have some big picture concerns about how long it could be before the Celts have a guy who is good enough to be the focal point of a title contender, but that's where most teams are at any given point.  There's no use dwelling on it.

We have plenty to be excited about -- Kemba will be fun and watching the Jays develop will be rewarding, I think.

I am going to miss Horford.  It will also be kind of tough anytime a true contender comes to town -- there will be a touch of "Oh, we were supposed to be competing with this team."  But that's all part of it.
All of this is true, except, when a “true contender” comes to town we and we beat them, it will be awesome,

If you firmly believe we weren't winning a championship with or without Horford, then you should be pretty happy with how the offseason worked out. We have a legit Kyrie replacement, we drafted three solid rookies while also pushing a 1st over to next year, and instead of paying Al $100M+ over the next four years, we are paying Kanter $5M over the next year or two.

The young guys will finally have their chance to flourish, Hayward should be as good as he is ever going to be, and we actually have tradable contracts to continue to make upgrades. We are in a good place with an opportunity to be in a great place if Tatum can really break out.

My point of view is different - if the idea was giving the young guys their chance to flourish, adding two very high usage players like Kemba Walker and Enes Kanter makes no sense.

Maybe they can still flourish, but there would be other options that would have maximized their chance to flourish.

This truly is the best part of the offseason... Tatum and Brown still here..  I feel like we have finally picked a direction... Building around the Youth...

Same as they are doing in Denver, Dallas, Philly, Milwaukee, and Utah. Those teams have seriously bright futures because they are growing their team from the ground... I feel like we are finally doing the right thing.
