Grade = A for what they did with what they had in a poor draft (though not nearly as bad as 2013 as I recall it).

Langford has a high upside for a 15th pick, Williams sounds like a lock for the rotation,  and Edwards sounds like the microwave shooter we've lacked recently. 3 usable players within the top 33 picks, a salary dump, a late first in a better draft next year, and a fleecing of the 76ers.

I gave it a B.

Took Langford at 14, which I didn't love at the time, but I completely forgot he'd played injured (and a pretty significant one at that). Would've rathered Doumbouya, but Langford has high potential.

Love Grant Williams. Think he's really smart, strong and has good all-round skills. Can see him being a leader immediately. Not too bothered we didn't take Little.

Love Edwards. Would've been happy with him at 24. Gives me Jason Terry vibes.

Dunno about the LSU guy, but he won SEC DPOY.

Thought the trade with Philly was good. Took advantage of their want for Thybulle.

'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

I graded it a D..no bigs..Langsford be only one that wont be in Maine..just an awful draft but who knows might be a great one, only time will tell

Really?  I don't think Williams will spend a single minute in Maine...I think they picked him to get rotation minutes from the go...

Draft Grade:  B.  Wanted 1 of Kabengele, Doumbouya, NAW.....Love the Grant Williams pick.

Grade will become an A the day that Langford makes teams at 9-13 regret not taking him.  And an A+ the day that teams picking 3-13 regret not taking him.

And if Langford is better than Morant, then take my license to grade away....

TP for being the first person I've seen suggest this. Grant Williams could see rotation minutes in his first year. If we're about to lose Al Horford we are going to need Grant Williams and that is not a bad thing.

He was no late bloomer who is finally flashing some upside, he is a highly accomplished Junior and if he's the type of thinker that he seems to be then he will not be intimidated by the league. I bet he's been examining NBA rosters, coming up with plans of attack, and identifying matchups he can look to exploit since he first established himself as a force at Tennessee.

If he can he execute at the next level remains to be seen but it's entirely possible that Grant Williams is the steal of the draft and years later people will wonder how he fell to 22.

Would have been completely fine with any those players.
Domboya at 14
Kabegngele at 22 (Though obviously I'm higher on Williams)
14 might have been a bit high for NAW but I wouldn't have hated it

Point 2 - That is a very healthy way to look at the Langford Pick. Justifiable skepticism but will jump on the train as soon as he starts producing.

The picks were fine. I didn't realize Grant Williams actually spent 3 years at Univ of Tenn. and averaged 15 pts and 6 rebounds per game, so he'll be more seasoned for a rookie.

I'm also excited about Romeo. Seems like a nice kid and want to see him succeed.

Would've liked to see them draft a center (Goga Bitzade comes to mind), but all in all, not bad.
