I discovered that if you do a preview of the post before actually posting, that the quotation marks work "here is a test".

Also, the apostrophe works sometimes with this trick, here's my test of the apostrophe.
TP for the work around regarding the apostrophe. That being said, I am tempted to deduct a TP for not telling us sooner.

(That?s a lie, I?m just use it that as an excuse to test the work around)

Didn?t work for me either..

For the record, the previous post was all question marks and was emoji-free.

Hey fellas, sorry for the heart attack moment yesterday - we had some issues with our host when I was unavailable + some horrid customer support when I returned, but all is well.

I hope to actually fix the apostrophes someday, but kudos on the clever hack!

Sorry I can't be more attentive with updates here, I'm insane enough to be running 2 other companies plus another full-time gig, but I DO intend to keep the forums chugging as long as humanly possible (and it's on cruise control most of the time with no particular end in sight)

Cheers,
"yennieb"

Fine, we'll allow it  ;)

Nah but seriously you're the GOAT Byennie. I'm glad this forum is still running strong!  ;D

Thank you byennie for all your hard work!  TP!  We really appreciate it.   Losing the site for a day does make everyone understand how everyone comes here even in the offseason for the excellent and intelligent conversation.   So thanks again for your efforts to get the site back up and running.

How are we doing financially with the site right now?  Do we need another pledge drive?

So excited for the new season to start soon and see our guys lift the banner and go after another one this year.  Also excited to see the game threads come back.

I can't offer any more insight.  It seems to work sometimes and not sometimes for me.  I have done a couple of posts in other threads this morning and the preview trick did work but one last night it did not.

I'm hardly the GOAT around here compared to the depth of contributions from a lot of the long-time members, but more than happy to play an important role keeping it alive!

This place would've gone the way of the dodo if it wasn't for you.  We're forever indebted to you for keeping this place alive after the SBNation split.

No problem. Not hard work, just occasionally something comes up like the other day, which was sort of a comical issue with our host in hindsight (Amazon, who suspended my account with all the warnings going to spam, then requires you to login securely just to contact support... but while suspending the account also took down my email with it... which is required to login to contact support... which is required to fix the account...)

I may do another small fundraise in the near future. I get by and don't really lose or make money on the site (varies but generally self-sustaining), but if we pool even some small amounts I can pre-pay a few things which usually comes with a nice discount and protects me from any unexpected out-of-pocket.

I am currently annoyed enough with these apostrophes to see if I can't at least Band-Aid a fix. The story is that Amazon finally forced a database upgrade from an ancient version, and while it generally worked it messed up some of the text encodings. It's surely fixable but I avoid brittle areas of the forum software like the plague in lieu of stability. But, imma have to look at this one.

Yes, thank you so much! Not going to lie, I checked to see if the website was back up at least 20 times the other day.
