So Portland now has Scoot Henderson as their starting PG, then added in this draft Bubs Carrington as their backup PG and Tyler Kolek as their 3rd string PG. That is one young PG rotation.

Did they trade the Kolek pick to NYK? Lotta trades

Oh, they did. Missed that.

Nice pickup for NY. He looks interesting.

You are right.

Neither guy on Portland. My mistake. Both traded.

Why does the draft wait so long to announce trades? I feel like the ticker is very far behind more often than not. I figure there are technical things happening behind the scenes. Is it really just league approval that makes trades at pick 9 take until pick 18 happens to be announced?

He was chosen because he's 6'8 and might be able to learn to shoot.

With everything surrounding Filip, I am kind of relieved the Celtics didn't take him now. Seems like a very bad situation for everyone involved.

Having to think about a blatant grooming situation with our new draft pick would have been the worst. Hopefully Filipowski gets some help.

I'm over here watching highlights of the best volume 3pt shooter in the draft that can also pass. Worked out well.

Geez, Zach Edey moves around the court like Tacko Fall.

I am watching an old Utah Jazz game from the 80s at the moment and Zach Edey moves like Mark Eaton did.

Or Yao Ming. Boban Marjanovic.

God, that guy (Edey) is slow. Absolutely horrible at changing directions. Agility, body balance, lateral quickness. Not good. Bad.

I thought Edey moved much better than those guys you referenced in the NCAA tournament, including the final game, until he got gassed in the 2nd half.  You are underestimating his athleticism.  He outplayed the U Conn center in the first half, and showed similar athleticism, and is taller and longer.  I think Edey is a good guy to body up on the strong centers like Embiid and Joker.

Holy cow, this Filipowski girlfriend story is wild.

It appears as tho she might be something like 27 or 28 depending on how old she was when she graduated college in 2018. She apparently wen to senior prom with him when he would have been 17, and there's some indication they were dating for a year before that. There's people on social media claiming to be his immediate family who say the girlfriend groomed him and forced him to cut off contact with the family.

Something like this could mess up an established team's chemistry. Wise move passing on him, I don't care how good he is. On the other hand for a team that's building and needs talent, maybe a different story.
