Those handles are mighty impressive for a guy his size.  Also passing and overall awareness.

Definitely needs to add weight.  Not the biggest fan of the way he shoots (lowish release) but it looks functional.

I wonder if Danny didn't consider the big guy due to how skinny he is?

Does Danny need to fire his chief draft scout Austin Ainge?

I still like Nesmith. But current Celtics system (create your own offense)  is not ideal to take an advantage of a shooter

Maybe Danny got mesmerized with what Duncan Robinson did, but forgot that, that kind of player may not excel in this system.

Poku has been straight up terrible this season. Shooting 28% from the field & 23% from deep. He’s had maybe two good games on a weak OKC team
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

So you’re saying in two years Poku will be two years away from being a fringe rotation player on garbage teams?

Never gonna blame Ainge for passing on a guy who was horrible at basketball and thinks he’s a 2 when he’s 7 feet tall

Yes, exactly what I was saying.

You want to give him no time to warm up and expect him to do great things from day 1??

He is a taller player also. They usually take a bit longer

At least he looks nothing like Dragon Bender (bust)

Poku is a 7-foot Bruno Caboclo.

Bruno dreams he can do the things Poku can do

Poku looks closer to Kristaps imo .... but SF version.  Again still has some ways to go in the weight department

He's actually not really outplaying rookie Bender at all.

I'm not willing to write Poku off or anything. I think by the time he's on his second contract he'll be solid.

But Ainge was clearly addressing how enormous need for shooting with Nesmith. I personally preferred Bey, but the Nesmith pick made sense

In theory but not in practice

Saddiq Bey would have been a better choice for this team

He is 2-3 inches taller.   Sets up/squares up quicker and quicker release than Nesmith.   Tighter and more confident handles in tight spaces

I'm not sure what Nesmith ceiling is. But in this system,  could be underutilized.   Perhaps a better fit on a team like the Suns or Heat

You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.
