We have some real fans on here hoping we lose just to fire the coach that just won a title.  Imagine how dense you have to be to not realize that this is really the last hurrah for this team because the most likely outcome before next year is that the team will be broken up.  Combine that with OKC still rising, and this is pretty much the last chance barring the unforeseen.

Me?  I would rather we win this year because I realize that we could bring back Red and still be in a worse position next year (and probably in the coming years).

I highly doubt anyone on this board would want them to lose just fire Joe over not winning another championship.
Joe is not doing himself any favors with his finger prints all over that horrible loss. Like you said all this talent they have and if they just end up winning one that is a failure that Joe will have to take a big piece of.

Folks need to remember they won a title mostly in part because the playing field was uneven; key players were injured in each round for the opposition. And then we end up playing Dallas in the Finals, who the C's were basically a nightmare for them.

Joe is and has always been the problem with failure to adjust in-game and failure to understand situational basketball.

do what? man this narrative needs to die a grisly death. injuries are part of the game. you think times we lost without marcus smart or timelord other teams complained about beating us? LOL

what about when miami beat us with a hurt JT in game 7? if he is healthy we win that game. you realize we were on the cusp of being up 3-1 in 2022 and that series was very winnable? we could easily have 3 titles right now with this bunch yet you do not even wanna give them credit for 1? SMH

At the very least, at least we extended this series to a guaranteed 5th game. I'd also be stunned if this series ended in 5 games, even if NY goes on to win. It's going 6-7 games for sure.

I think it goes 7. I think we lose the next one, win the next 2 and then the last one will be a toss up depending on how well we shoot, but if both teams play at their best we should win that game 7.

PLEASE NO. next game is another MUST WIN.  need to get back hime 2-2. then it is a brand new series. we should be up 3-0 now. 20 point leads in all 3 games and only have 1 win.  now if we win game 4 and lose game 5 i still feel we can win two straight. we did it against the bucks in 2022 and sixers in 2023 as we were down 3-2 in both series. we just cannot put the stress of having to win 3 straight on us again like in 2023 ECF although we really had to win 4 straight then.

how about we finally learned and rectified our issues and roll on to win this 4-2? like we did against the bulls in 2017?

I hope so but personally I think this series ends either two ways. Knicks in 6, or Celtics in 7. I know we are more talented but the margin for error is low. It will be tough to win 4 in a row. 4 in 5 seems more likely.

I thought Knicks in 6 tbh, but I am cautiously optimistic after today. I think we may win the next two, lose Game 6, then win Game 7. NY may also have that one game where they are red hot shooting.

Or they could keep it simple and just win the next 3 in a row. Game 4 is pivotal though. If NY wins I give it like a 95%+ chance NY then goes on to win in 6. We can not go down 3-1.

you are probably right. 7 for us might be best case scenario. asking to beat them 4 straight is asking alot after we blew the first 2 games that shoulda been chalked up as wins. so actually we shoulda beaten this team 6 times IF we escape this series.

That's what we would all like, but unfortunately concentration and focus isn't this team's strongest suit  :-\

I have a feeling they will let the next game slip and then when their backs are to the wall they will pull out the next 2 and then the last one will come down to whether they shoot 50% or 25%

had a slightly different feeling if they pull off this comeback.  they take game 4 in NY since they play better on the road, lose game 5 at home because of course they're at home and they'll get too cocky/confident and blow it, then take game 6 in NY when they know it's win or they're out and then take game 7 in a battle -- NY wilts and someone on the C's finally goes off

Finally we don?t blow another 20pt lead

It really helps when the team plays with some defensive fire and purpose

I feel this is going 7. Celtics rip off 3 wins in a row. Close a close one in game 6 in msg and then win game 7 in Boston

If they win Game 4, I feel the same way. Lose it, and I think NY in 6 honestly.
