Well the Knicks do have three spaces for max contract players, right?

Durant, Irving/Leonard, Davis.

Regardless, that team is going to be instant title contenders if three of those four players are on the same team. Steamroll the entire east, and then take down Houston in the Finals.

Wait a minute, I thought Kyrie, Durant, and AD were going to the Lakers? Now they're going to the Knicks?

Does the CBA allow for a player to play for two franchises at once? It would certainly make it easier for the league to market certain guys. Imagine the jerseys they could sell!!!!!!!!!!!!!!!

Bucher also said Kobe was 100% leaving the Lakers in 2007

There was a nice screengrab on twitter of Bucher with this quote about KD to the Knicks being a "done deal" alongside a quote from him saying Lebron and Bosh to the Bulls was a "done deal" in 2010.

You indicated it above, but they have space for TWO max FAs and the ability to trade for AD. If this is their plan, they really need that pick to end up #1 (or maybe 2, depending on how NOP feels about Morant). DSJ, Ntilikina, Lance Thomas and a not top prospect doesn't beat our best offer. Still baffled why they traded away Porzingis if their plan was to land AD.

Besides, I suppose anything can happen, but do we really see Irving joining Durant AND Davis in NYK. That just doesn't seem like his style at all.

I believe him. I think KD is heading to NY, like I thought Lebron was heading to LA. In retrospect, none of this will be a shock.

Irving will be gone too. People will be sad, many will overreact, but Danny will still put out a competitive product.

While I doubt Kemba rejects top $ to stay in Charlotte, I'm still hoping.
Can you imagine the level of distrust and jealousy between KD and Irving when they're playing on the Knicks together?  They'll constantly be suspicious of the other trying to steal their spotlight and usurp their leadership.

because Porzingis was a free agent this summer and couldn't be traded.  So they actually got tradeable parts for him.

Can someone tell me if hypothetically we can get Kemba if Kyrie walks?
(assuming we get AD too) can we offer him a max?

tnx

Ha - I knew that. Not ready to contend with CS this morning, I guess.

Obviously if they can't land Davis, then having Porzingis is a much better 2nd or 3rd option, so it was obviously a risky trade, but allegedly the Zinger wasn't all that keen on signing a long term contract in NY, so it was probably a risk worth taking for them, especially with the weird rape story that is out now as well that the Knicks knew about at the time of the trade.

This is a fantastic standalone quote.  "Androslav" could be forever remembered throughout human history if this justifiably catches on.

Also, screw Ric Bucher.  Maybe he had sources 20 years ago.  Maybe.

This is gonna be a great thing to bring up when Durant demands a trade to the Celtics on July 2nd after the Davis trade and Kyrie resigning.

I think those who assume Kyrie and Durant are eager to go to the NYK are underestimating how much players are aware of, and value, the strength and stability of NBA organizations. If you're either player, you don't solve your problems of disappointment with your situation by going there.

The other thing is that people tend to exaggerate the significance of Kyrie's friendship with Durant. Guess what? He's also close friends with Anthony Davis. And for that matter, Jayson Tatum. I just don't see it.

Lastly, Durant has a life outside of basketball in California:

http://www.espn.com/nba/story/_/id/23532594/how-kevin-durant-building-silicon-valley-empire

Is he craving New York to such a degree that he uproots again to go to the other side of the country?

The most likely scenarios are that Kyrie stays in Boston; and Durant stays in California, either with GSW or LAL. If either go to the NYK I will be shocked.
