Smart rules the p’n’r game.

You guys need to chill, pop played everybody and that was the whole plan, getting a W was not by all means neccecary

I *think* this is right. When Pop is trying to win I don’t think we’ll see much of Plumlee or White. Plumlee, especially, is just lost out there.

Would really like to see them run more offense instead of going 1v1.

Yeah Plumlee had a pretty bad game.  Gave up a lot of points to Bogut, seemed lost a lot on def.
Not sure why Plumlee played so much and Lopez didn't spell Turner more?  It seems like we have one decent big in Turner and that is it.  That is probably going to get us in trouble at some point esp if Turner gets into foul trouble.

We seemed to be getting killed in paint all night.  points in the paint Aus 46 - USA -26.  Pop threw out some serious small ball lineups last night that had Brown, Tatum and Barnes I think at one point.  Where Barnes was guarding the 5.  I don't think that any of Jaylen, Jayson, Harrison, Kuzma, or Middleton can effectively guard centers.

As someone else mentioned, I think Pop was more concerned about evaluating his guys in these last 3 games than actually winning the game.

After a DNP last night, USA Basketball announces that Kyle Kuzma is the final cut from the World Cup roster. Mason Plumlee makes the squad, presumably to give USA an emergency third string center.

Kuzma has a "sore ankle"

Australia outplayed USA. Much better ball movement. Paddy Mills hot as a pistol. Was the best player on the floor. Their bigs outplayed ours decisively. Aussie team is really good, should be ranked much higher than 10th IMO.

Surprised Kuzma cut. Played well game before.

US bigs pretty bad. Ozzie bigs much better including Baynes. We will miss him.

Kuzma shot the ball well when he got the chance, I think it was more there were a lot of better wings on the team that all play better def and add more to the team.

If Plumlee ends up playing big minutes for team USA, I am worried about our chances.  Hopefully Turner can consistently stay out of foul trouble and Lopez can handle 15-20 min a game.

Kuzma should have made team. Did he get cut because he is a Laker?

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
Ha - even if there were only 8 players, I am pretty sure 4 Cs would have still made the team (sorry: Plumlee, White, Harris, and Lopez). I am excited as a Cs fan, but I can see why people are less than stoked about this squad. I think they have a decent chance to win it all, but it would actually be an accomplishment this time around.

Above you it said "sore ankle."
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Turner will be starting and playing a majority of the center minutes for this team. I think he, Kemba and Mitchell will see the most minutes on the team.

I have the feeling that Turner's ability to stay out of foul trouble will be key in determining how far the USA team goes.  Kemba seems ready to deliver 20 points or so a game.  Mitchell is a solid 2nd option.  Everyone else is kind of finding their role.  If any of Barnes, Brown, Middleton or Tatum could consistently produce 14-15ppg it would really help too.

It feels like the rotations need to be shortened a bit, but I guess that doesn't happen as often in international play as it does in the NBA.

More - Kemba, DM, Turner, Barnes, Tatum, Brown, Smart, Middleton, Lopez
Less - Plumlee, White, Harris
