This Davis thing could be Danny's Waterloo. I have a feeling he will try for it.

To lose either Brown or Tatum for a player that will not sign with us would be a disaster of mega proportions. Take his word for it, he doesn't like the Celtics.

I put it at 50-60%

When it’s worth it, DA pushes his chips to the center of the table. We traded some (at the time) good assets to get Kyrie in IT, Crowder and BKN. Going back further, we traded away Al Jefferson, Gerald Green and Ryan Gomes for KG. I can imagine DA won’t have problems doing another heartless (read: fan favorites) trade.

I think with whoever we acquire using the MLE (from buyout market), we'll sign on some 2-year deal and hopefully that will allow us to keep Smart AND Brown, so it's basically Tatum, Williams, MLE Player, Yabusele (salary), and then whatever picks are needed. That Grizzlies pick looks like it could strike gold.

I voted 60-80%, but to me it all depends how we perform this year. If we make the finals Ainge may decide to hold off, in which case I would rate it at 20-40%. If we bomb out in the first round then I could see a move happening, 80-100%. Obviously Danny will solicit feedback from Kyrie as well, for all we know, even tho he and AD are friends, Kyrie may not want to change the team if the team makes a deep run. Remember that Kyrie made his verbal commitment to us at the start of the season because he was excited at the potential of our existing team. Say Gordon starts to show that he's on his way back, and Jaylen continues to play well off the bench, and Tatum learns to pass, there may not be a need for AD.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D

For the record, the rose rule is still a thorn in our side.  A trade involving any of our picks this year would have to be agreed before the draft and before kyrie resigns.  That seems unlikely.

I think the logic would be, they agree in principle to a deal, they draft for the Pelicans using Kings Pick and maybe Celtics + Clippers Pick(s), and then make it official after July 1. Same time as extending Irving in an ideal scenario.

Yep, this is not an uncommon occurrence. Teams draft for other teams all the time. And its not like Ainge can't go to Kyrie and ask "Hey man, we get a top 5 player and one of your best friends you think you might resign?"

100%.

If Anthony Davis is still available you STILL roll the dice and go for him.

He can be convinced to stay - once he see the WHOLE picture for himself.

Danny will definitely have conversations with AD and Kyrie together I imagine.
