is just a bandaid.

Why are all these illegals trying to cross into the U.S. at the Mexican border?

If they're all mass-murders, rapists, and drug dealers....wouldn't it be easier to just commit crimes where they already are?

I mean why travel thousands of miles in terrible conditions and face the high probability of getting caught at the border anyways?

Not sure how accurate this is but:

https://www.lawfareblog.com/whos-really-crossing-us-border-and-why-theyre-coming

And if the majority of illegals crossing are FLEEING gang violence sacrificing their homes, lands, and thousands of dollars (probably hundreds of thousands in equivalence to us) for a better life should we not help them?

I mean this is America. We're the BEST country in the WORLD.

Most of our ancestors immigrated here or "settled" here for almost identical reasons (fleeing persecution, violence, looking for a better life, the American dream) and some also did so illegally (genocide of the Native Americans) but this country is suppose to be a symbol of hope and opportunity.....of freedom and peace....for not just American citizens but the whole WORLD!

Anyways stopping the CAUSE of this migration of illegals is the real cure.

The U.S. needs to do something to stop the hundreds if not thousands of gangs in Guatemala, Honduras, El Salvador, etc.

We invaded Iraq to stop a single dictator.

Shall we not invade again to stop a few more?

I agree 100%, get Mexico an NBA team with Wall on it. We need to show everyone they will pay for the Wall.

I think Mexico and other countries will always have issues till those in power that believe in doing good  are better protected. If they dont have security they play ball with coruption or they die. And that's why things don't change enough.
Trade deadline mock team: Celtics,
Irving, Rozier, Wanna
Smart, Robinson, Dozier
Tatum, Morris, Semi
Griffin, Theis, Yab
Horford, Baynes, Williams

You know the funny thing in all this, Mexicans now want a wall on their southern border more than Americans want one on their own southern border.

Well Iím not sure we can handle the truth, but if we could maybe weíd admit that a majority of Rs and Ds actually agree on most aspects of border security and immigration reform. Our system, thankfully, has kept America functional through 2 years of an incompetent liar, but remains too dysfunctional to resolve what could have been resolved without a shutdown or political vitriol.

This has been a problem way before Pres. Trump though.    Congress has been passing the buck on this for decades.

It does look like Trump will get SOME funding for his border wall.

https://news.yahoo.com/border-security-deal-seems-near-easing-shutdown-concerns-062908283.html

Not sure how much this funding will help with a 2000 mile long border.

Not to mention a wall blocks border patrol from monitoring the other side.

There are already 700 miles of fencing along the border.  Walls can be built to allow visibility.

So we really don't need a Wall....we just build/improve the fences.

The Senate and House passed...looks like Trump will sign the bill...AND declare a national emergency.

Make sure that the Republicans are very careful in what they allow Trump to declare a national emergency. When a Democrat is in the executive office, they might not like it.

Someone watches fake news.   There is a small amount of wall money.   The compromise provides $1.375 billion for 55 miles of new fences along the border in Texas, far short of the $5.7 billion Trump had sought for 234 miles of steel walls.   Certainly not what President Trump wanted but it also is "not the one dollar" that Speaker Pelosi touted.

Assuming Pres Trump signs, and he has not yet, the adults won the day for once in DC.
