If only we could've played the starting unit for 48 minutes. Bench was a real letdown tonight.
Maybe it is time to maybe put one of Smart or Morris back on the bench? The bench is an issue.

Who do you bench to do it, though? Both Morris and Smart have been instrumental to our better play since moving to the starting lineup.
I've been saying all year I'd start Irving, Smart, Hayward, Tatum, and Horford.  I think that is going to be the best lineup night in and night out and gives Boston the best chance to really compete in the playoffs over the long haul.  The team really needs Hayward's play making in the starting unit.  They just don't have a guy like him i.e. a guy that looks to pass first but that can also handle the ball (Horford is the big man version of Hayward).  I think not only would Hayward play better with those guys, everyone else would as well.  Brown and Morris can lead the second unit, which I think is better for them.
I think the issue there is who is going to initiate the offense on the second unit?
If they can't get it done with Hayward then that isn't the problem.  the problem is they have no good man to man offensive players.  They have no one that can create for themselves.  That is where Morris is far more useful.  He can get a shot off against just about any second unit player in the league.  That is what that unit actually needs especially with Rozier not playing well and Brown being as inconsistent as he has been.

another bad loss, this sucks fellas.
gotta stick with our team and hope they get things figured out at some point.
it has been painful with so many games like this when expectations are so high.

This team needs home court advantage. Terrible last decision by Hayward. Didn’t even let the play develop. If I were Kyrie, I’d be angry too

One of the worst losses of the season.

One step forward, two steps back. We are past the midway point in the season and there should be concern about this team and how they play, especially on the road.

Blech this Celtics team sucks this year relative to what they should be.

If we can't learn to beat the NBA'a mediocre and poor teams on a consistent basis we're going to be 3rd or 4th place in the playoffs at best. In that case I doubt we're making it out of the east.

Maybe we do need to thin the herd a little.

If we could find a veteran ball handler to replace Rozier.

Can't imagine a Tatum, midrange fall away was the play call there.

kyrie giving Gordon the business for not getting him the ball
kyrie not happy with Gordon

This team is just horribly inconsistent and part of that has to be coaching.

This is easily Stevens' toughest coaching task and thus far he is not passing at all.

If I am Danny I have to make it easier for him, and thin out this roster.  I get that they are keeping guys for depth because of what happened last year but there is no way these bench guys are leading the team to an NBA Finals.

Ugh, watching that again Hayward clearly went early there and not what they were drawing up for Kyrie.

Hayward has to be better than that. Tatum was 6 - 15 at that point. Why the F would you go to him there that early??

Just dumb decisions and poor BBIQ killing us all year long it seems like.

99% positive that was not the play and Tatum went full hero ball right there.

Yeah, while Moranis is probably right that it is our likely best long-term lineup, that would seemingly only exacerbate the bench playmaking problems.

i did not watch game, but ..........................

8-32 from 3-point arc and 19 pathetic assists.

Did we continue to regress back to dribbling too much and not moving the ball on offense ?
We have some very good wins in our home stand, get the ball moving better and then what, they start thinking about how great they are again, forget what was learned and start playing iso ball ? Something fundamentally wrong with this team.

It was Hayward's fault if anyone's.  Tatum didn't have time to do much else after receiving the pass.
