Tatum is untouchable in a potential AD trade.

Question is, how good will that Kings Pick be? If it's not Top-5, then it may make things real difficult in the trade efforts. I'm not opposed to giving up Brown, one of Rozier/Smart, salary and essentially all the picks if it meant getting Anthony freakin' Davis.

But again, if the Kings keep it up then it may not even be a Top-8 pick and it may require us to give up both Brown + Tatum to have a chance to acquire him. I wouldn't do that.

AD should be on his knees begging.  Our team has gone further he has ever been.  He needs us more than we need him.  He is good but doesn’t make anyone better.  I am not stripping our talent for one player.

If we are trading for AD say before the draft, if the deal is Smart, Tatum, Williams and a package of picks. You make the trade. Tatum is not untouchable. If it's between Brown and Tatum, I would want to keep Tatum but if it means losing Tatum to secure Davis, you do it.

With Kyrie, Davis and Hayward, Tatum would be relegated to a third or fourth option anyway.

Kyrie
Brown
Hayward
Horford
Davis

is still a multiple title winning team, even if Tatum isn't here.

I dont know Nick, that is a big haul for one player. I dont think AD does the deal. He wants to win so why go to a depleted team?

Look at that lineup again though... wow.  I think Brown has a higher upside with Tatum gone too.

big haul? It is Tatum, a role player, a recent Kate 1st round picks, and draft picks. How is that a big haul?
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

Starters - Luka, JB, Lebron, Wemby, Shaq
Rotation - D. Daniels, Mitchell, G. Wallace, Melo, Noah
Deep Bench - Korver, Turner

Also depends what your bench is after the trade is hypothetically made. Rozier likely leaves in FA so who is our other guard after Kyrie/Brown?

The trade couldn't happen until the offseason so you just fill out the bench after you get it done.

exactly and I mean come on, you don't make a trade because you lack a bench guard.  I mean really.  People are very strange with this sort of thing.

And for the record, if Smart gets traded, I think there is at least a decent chance that Rozier comes back.  The team can't keep both of them, but certainly could keep 1 of them long term.

Brown too me is expendable. I don't see much improvement in his game.

Brown, Horford, S&T Rozier and Sac pick.

We would have to hope Horford doesn't opt in and wants a long term deal.

Can someone tell me if we can do a S&T with Rozier?

A sign and trade would only work if Terry doesn't sign an offer sheet with another team.  Basically the Celtics could work out a deal if Rozier likes the destination and decides to cooperate.  If the Celtics match an offer sheet then they must wait until December to move Terry.
