...it's as simple as that.

Rozier, Tatum, and JBrown have played terrible so far this year. On both sides of the ball.

I think the training with Kobe and Tmac have gone to their heads and definitely the wrong time to train with these guys....plus two of the most inefficient players to learn from.

Smh.

Hasn’t every player we have has regressed from last year? (Except for morris and maybe Baynes)

Hasn’t Literally every player we have has regressed from last year?
Pretty much everyone except for Kyrie, whose scoring has become worse and a tad less efficient, but whose rebounding, passing and defence has improved significantly.
'23 Historical Draft: Orlando Magic.

PG: Terry Porter (90-91) / Steve Francis (00-01)
SG: Joe Dumars (92-93) / Jeff Hornacek (91-92) / Jerry Stackhouse (00-01)
SF: Brandon Roy (08-09) / Walter Davis (78-79)
PF: Terry Cummings (84-85) / Paul Millsap (15-16)
C: Chris Webber (00-01) / Ralph Sampson (83-84) / Andrew Bogut (09-10)

yup, everyone's playing worse than last season except for maybe Kyrie and Morris.  Al hasn't backslid as much as everyone else but as a whole, this team's roster is playing worse than they did last year

Rozier most definitely has. Tatum had been playing well leading up to tonight, and Brown has been playing better compared to earlier this season.

I would not be shocked if Rozier gets traded. He clearly does not know what his role is on the team.

Two plays sum up our studs tonight. Start of the 3rd, Tatum refuses to pass, fires up a contested 2 and immediately gets yanked by Brad.  Last in the 4th they force a steal, Jaylen can dish to Tatum for a dunk and instead elects to take it himself with a defender nearby, he misses but draws a foul, gets called for a T for shoving the guy down and then misses one of the FT's.  If he passes its an important 2 points and the momentum continues.

Unfortunately with young players you need to be patient.  Just look at how many games the Timberwolves have lost with their young core.  There's too much talent to just send Brown or Tatum packing.

Rozier on the other hand isn't going to be re-signed barring Danny trading Smart and right now he's giving them nothing.

Tatum hasn't regressed....Brown has.

Rozier needs more minutes to get in a groove. Hes not playing well because his mins have gone down.

I don’t think rozier was ever really a young stud.  And I don’t think brown is one either frankly.  Not a future star IMO.

As for Tatum, still shows flashes but obviously having trouble finding his role.  He needs to stop being a ball stopper with those ISO fade-aways.

Some regression. More that they were overrated. Bill Simmons before season started predicted Jaylen Brown was destined to be all nba. We were all caught up a bit in the hype.

Tatum is best as a complementary player, at least for now. He is not alpha like Donovan Mitchell.

Tatum hasn't regressed....Brown has.

Rozier needs more minutes to get in a groove. Hes not playing well because his mins have gone down.

Tatum's efficiency is down across the board. He's averaged .6 assists over his last 5 games. His defense is nonexistent. The prodigal son has regressed.

Rozier shoots the ball whenever he touches it. He somehow still can't pass out of a pick and roll. He's playing for his next contract and not doing it very well.
2021 Houston Rockets
PG: Kyrie Irving/Patty Mills/Jalen Brunson
SG: OG Anunoby/Norman Powell/Matisse Thybulle
SF: Gordon Hayward/Demar Derozan
PF: Giannis Antetokounmpo/Robert Covington
C: Kristaps Porzingis/Bobby Portis/James Wiseman

I think you are correct.  Can i ask the question why?  And do we have an answer ?

Move Rozier. Send Brown to the bench. No more kids running the show. This team should have a Big 3 of Irving, Hayward, Horford in the starting lineup with Tatum playing within the system or getting the hook.

Smart and Wanamaker can absorb Rozier's minutes and play about 40 minutes combined. More toughness, less bull, clearer roles.

There's some merit to that but I don't think that's the main reason. The main reason is in their heads. I think that after having breakout years last year, this year their reward for that improvement, because you have the return of two ball dominant players in Kyrie and Gordon, is the prospect of getting less touches, less minutes, and having to figure out how to impact the game with that reduction in opportunity. So they're forcing bad shots, missing good shots, and when it happens, it's affecting the other parts of their game, particularly the defensive end. Given their youth they don't have those layers of experience to fall back on to keep themselves level headed.

They need to accept that the roles have changed and figure out how they can adapt to it. That's really what it comes down to. It's a mental thing that manifests itself in lack of effort or too much tension and tightness due to pressure to perform. I watched some of the highlights of Burke lighting us up and I saw players not fighting through simple screens, getting burned on elementary pick and rolls and not keeping their man in front of them. Last year they had a lot to play for, there were starter spots up for grabs and there was zero pressure on them. This year there's immense pressure on them to a) live up to last year and b) live up to pre season expectations, including their own.
Any odd typos are because I suck at typing on an iPhone :D
