Haywards team first mentality and minimal Ego are a perfect fit for our crowded team of Studs. Plus with the injury I think it's a no brainier to ease in Hayward off the bench and lead an amazingly talented bench of Hayward, Morris, Rozier and Smart.

Horford and Baynes were among the best defensively in the league playing together. Tatum and Irving are ultimately going to compete for Shots, plus Jaylen is hungry and still developing.

I like the idea of starting Baynes, Theis, or Williams when he's ready let's hear other ideas for Other lineups without Hayward.

I think our starting 5 with Baynes last year was great.  We were great defensively, and Baynes just fit well with the other 4.  If Gordon isn't ready to start right away (that doesn't seem the case) I don't know how Baynes isn't starting.

I love it.  Yes, I have advocated this in many threads.  I think Hayward would be perfect off the bench in the mold of Hondo, Manu, or Iguodala.  I even came up with a nickname for him Gordon Gondo Hayward.

I would start Baynes but I would be OK with Theis as well.  The whole point is to get more size on the court and to spread out the scoring options.  It would make no sense to bench Gondo and then play Smart (even though Smart is a more talented player than Baynes or Theis).

Starting lineup with Baynes would be the best without Hayward, but won’t happen.

Hayward is a max contract player, he’s starting. End of story.

What

Why would Hayward come off the bench? That makes no sense.

Yeah, he’s way too good.

He might have some games off being tested though, I guess

Hayward has been “easing in” since he started rehabbing the injury.  He’s now healthy.  If the doctors say he has no restrictions, I don’t get the posters who want to give him restrictions.  If he’s cleared, he’s cleared.

I think there is virtually no chance that Hayward comes off the bench. They may limit his minutes a bit until he gets back into the flow, but he'll start.

Hayward is Boston's best player.  Your best player doesn't come off the bench.  Thus, I reject this premise.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Hayward is a started along with Kyrie, Brown, Tatum and Horford. The team wouldn't be releasing photos of the 5 of them if they weren't going to be the starting five.

That 5 player grouping will dominate the minutes played by 5 man units. Simply put, that's your starting five.

Agreed and if there are mismatches we will rain 3 bombs and run them out of the building.

There will be plenty  of minutes for the second unit. No need to change starters unless we have an injury.

Horford-Baynes-Hayward-Smart-Irving. Jaylen and Jayson off the bench with Rozier.

Kyrie/Brown/Tatum/Horford/Baynes.

Hasn't that lineup gone undefeated when Baynes was starting for them? Or rather, when they put Baynes in for over 16 minutes a game.
