Don't understand why people are still mad at Allen. He wanted to win a ring with Lebron more than he wanted his number in the rafters. He has every right to make that choice.
Exactly. People in here are so sensitive that someone would want to leave the Cs. He did what he thought was best for him. He didn't owe anyone anything.

lol...looks like Ray is the one that always wants to talk about the Celtics.
Well, if a bunch of fans like the ones here kept on calling him Judas/traitor etc, I can see why he'd be hurt. Like I said, he deserved better than he got from the "fans." I'm glad that there are Cs fans out there that realize that. Without Ray, there is no KG and magical 07-08 season.
So fans can't do what they want to do but Ray can?

He deserved everything he asked for, his decision he should deal with it

Same. I had no ill will toward Ray. The opposite, I'm grateful for the time he spent in Boston. While he was here he was a class act who always showed up and played hard even though he was the one who sacrificed the most (touches, attention, etc.) in the big 3.

Nice to see him taking his rightful spot in the Hall.
Ray's Chinese nickname was 君子劍 in the big 3 era even before his drama with Rondo and others
which in English apply the meaning of "Hypocrite"
I used to think he was a class act and didn't quiet understand why he got that nickname
now i know

Ray to the Hall? Didnt know there was a Hall of Shame for basketball players...

'..... and he left the team that gave him his first championship and saw him set the career record for three point shots made to the teams #1 rival GM Pat Riley for less money and a lesser role that was available for him'

That is an appropriate statement to include on his Hall tribute.

Ray got a lot of love in Boston the camera loved to pan to his mama as he benefited from assist after assist from Rondo and the crew, and screens from his teammates. He was welcome to Boston by the great Bill Russell who treated the Big Three as a members of the  Celtic family. He dissed them all with that singular move. Shame Ray.

When the Celtics hang #18 and more KG will be there, PP will be there, Ray will not  be welcome. He can hang with his Heat crew.

No, speaking about the Faux/psuedo outrage that folks here on the Blog have towards Ray and something he did what? 7 years ago?

In hindsight though, had ray not left in 2012 he wouldve been traded in 2013 just as pierce and Garnett were.

its probably the way Ray left and the where...that hurts garnett/Pierce.....i'm sure Westbrook feels the same way about Durant. leaving to take less money and go to the team you are trying to go through.

Danny took one of the biggest U-turns you could take from signing Garnett to an extension with a no-trade clause the summer before and loading up on guys like jason terry to go on a run with the old guard.....to trading everyone at the end of the season and going into full rebuild mode.

Ray isnt innocent though....Pierce threw out the olive branch and Allen repaid him by not even attending pierces number going in the rafters ceremony.

I get that. Many here that are still ate up with the way Ray left and who he went to, and all.

Ray should have been loyal - to a fault.

Just like THIS guy.

Blind loyalty can be cruel - but we teach our sons/daughters to do what what their teachers/bosses/superiors - tell them to.

As much as I love The Boston Celtics Isaiah Thomas moved the "NBA is a Family" needle a bit, for me.

Ray Allen boldly chose his OWN destiny. I can't and won't ever fault him for that.

This doesn't make any sense. Ray is the one that can't let it go. He keeps bringing it up and is literally the reason this thread exists right now.

I had never heard that so I googled it and found this page on NBA.com from 2007 saying that the translation of Ray's nickname in Chinese is "Gentelman."

Ray is just being encouraged to stay on that path he chose. The Miami Heat is his destiny. Enjoy Ray, and leave the Celtics alone.

It’s apples to oranges. How was IT “loyal” to the C’s? By playing for a team he got traded to? Loyalty isn’t falling in love with the franchise and city.

And I think the Celtics handled the situation with IT very poorly, he deserved a heads up or something.

I don’t care that Ray left. I don’t even care that he left for Miami. I care that he never told the guys he so often talks about.

If your brother on his 18th birthday joins the military without telling you, you gonna be cool with that?

Ray was about as bold as Durant was joining GSW. They bought their rings. They left so much money on the table to go to an easy situation. Ray took what, $3M less? Expensive ring, huh?
