if he picks up Kobe's desire to win, competitiveness and drive to improve his game then great.

if he picks up Kobe's gunner mentality and me-first attitude then bad.

I'm gonna add "footwork" to your first list.  Kobe had excellent footwork and Tatum's already really good at it.

Yep. Learning skill work and work ethic from Kobe is terrific.

As long as he doesn't give Jayson any advice on women, we'll be all set.
Watch Kobe take credit when Tatum becomes a top 5 player in the league.
Kobe: "I turned him into Black Mamba II".
If JT puts up back-to-back 30+ ppg seasons Kobe can claim whatever he likes!

and 5 championships
Only 5? ;)

that's +6 chips over LA ;) but i like what you're saying, MORE !!!!

I have the feeling we may be talking Tatum as a top 5 player in the NBA in as few as a year or two.

His desire to get better is second to none, and he turns to the best of the best to train with too.

Lakers fans must be rolling over in their graves seeing their all-time greatest mentoring our future superstar instead of their young guys.

If y’all got uncomfy seeing that pic of Kobe/Tatum, I’ll just leave this tweet/video right here:

https://twitter.com/drewhanlen/status/1018537619309772802

I, on the other hand, love it. Kobe was a killer on the court. I’d love if Tatum develops that same level of skill.

Always hated Kobe the competitor. But he seems like a pretty cool dude after retiring.

Man that's a great video and chilling comparison to Kobe. I also hated Kobe as an opponent but agree that post retirement he does seem very cool and unbiased with his help to other players. TP for the video.

I wonder how much Kobe charges for these sessions.  Reportedly Hakeem charged Amare Stoudamire $50k a week.

Can't lose working with an All-Time great.

Looking forward to Tatum's continued development.

Working with somebody the caliber of Tatum? I hope not anything. Kobe reportedly has a net worth above $350M. I suppose it depends on how much work he is putting in with him or how seriously Kobe takes his new 'business', but the NBA gave a lot to Kobe Bryant, I would hope he would give some back - especially to the next generation of stars.

Good Lord. So Amare paid Hakeem $50K per week to basically ignore his advice?
