Only as a free agent - we would have to give up half our team to acquire Davis in a trade and I love (mostly) our current team.  Also, Davis publicly expressed disappointment in the way Ainge treated Isaiah Thomas at the end of 2017.

Well we won’t have max cap space until he’s about 40 so that only leaves a trade.

I’m sure he’s softened his stance as bit (as have many) on the IT4 trade seeing as how it played out throughout the season. Yes it was tough because Isaiah gave us everything, but we also have him everything. Danny and Brad gave him the keys and told him be who you are. It worked, he was masterful last season and became etched in Celtics lore forever.


I do wonder what AD will want to do, especially if they bring in Otto Porter for DMC like rumored. All these other teams are adding multiple All-NBA talents and his team is paying $22-25M a year for guys like Holiday and Porter. Good players, but not elite. I think he’s content but I’m sure KG can remind him of his cautionary tale of being loyal to a fault.

LeBron and Kawhi going to LA is close to a best-case scenario for Boston while still remaining realistic. Can't happen fast enough, as far as I'm concerned.

I tend to agree. They still can't beat Golden State.

must be just me but no, I don't see it as good for Boston.

1. Boston went through a 22 year drought and now a 10 year drought of titles.  I'm enjoying the current Laker futility and the fact that in the absence of Kawhi and Lebron, they won't sniff a title for another 7-8 years and likely the playoffs for 5.  I'd really like that to continue.
2. adding Kawhi and Lebron (and possibly PG) puts them in the playoffs where having those 2 (or 3) on the court could be enough to beat GSW and Houston to get to the finals.   As much as I'd enjoy a Celtics/Lakers matchup in the finals, I don't want to see one for another 10 years or so after the C's have padded their team lead in titles and the Lakers have suffered with a crappy franchise for as long as possible.  Having Kawhi and Lebron in the finals is more than fair chance they could win and i don't want another title for Lebron.

GS would still crush them as it stands.  It is going to take picks and young guys to get Kawhi.  A team of LeBron, Wagner and Kawhi ain't winning nothing.

Of course it is good.
