I find it interesting that the Cs are working out former ESPN #18 highschool recruit of 2017 Billy Preston today.
Preston was another player who had NCAA issues and only played in a couple of preseason games vs D-2 schools before leaving to play 3 games in the adriatic league. He reportedly left Adriatic after suffering a shoulder injury.
He measured really well at the combine proving to have the size to play 5 in the modern NBA
6'8.75" w/0 shoes 7'2 wingspan 9' standing reach at 222lbs and 5.45% BF
From watching the highlights and reading reports his game is obviously that of a face up swing man. He looks really smooth handling the ball and could really benefit from NBA spacing. In all of the games from this past season (vs D-2 and Adriatic league) he clearly stands out vs his competition.
He reminds me a lot of Perry Jones III. Jones was another player who should have thrived in the modern NBA but despite showing glimpses of promise has never made it in the NBA.
Despite being old for his class (already 21) he might be a player worth taking a chance on. If the Cs like his workout and think they can develop him I could see DA surprising a lot of draft experts and taking him at #27.
