I'm aware. You're not really contesting anything I said. I'm just letting the original poster know that they should have no expectation of privacy when out in public in the US
Just pointing out that when in a private venue, the venue owner may ask you to stop filming at any point, regardless of whether there's a no-filming policy posted or not.

true but I have a feeling with hidden camera glasses and camera watches existing and gaining popularity, this is going to be less relevant as time goes on. No one will be able to see or notice someone filming when the camera is hidden

I had no idea there were so many lawyers here and licensed to practice law in Texas no less.  Imagine that.  Under state or federal law no matter what this heckler does, venue will be in Texas and decided applying Texas law.  From a pragmatic standpoint, who here thinks this Utah fan has a prayer of a chance in front of a Texas jury with all kinds of potential defenses in a civil action?

However, Harden is not "out of the woods" yet.  He could be criminally charged.  The 1st incident is fairly benign to me (and Harden has multiple defenses available)  but watch the 2nd closely.  Harden didn't so much "lunge" at the fan as if to strike him but turned his head in such a way that it suggests he spat on the fan.  That is battery by definition.  However, the head of the Houston DA's office would have to have major cahones to file criminal charges and again the same pragmatic argument applies--no jury in Houston is going to convict Harden.

In the 2nd vid, Nene (in street clothes) pushes the fan so he's going to get fined for sure and possibly suspended.  Harden, if he spat at the fan, could similarly have the same penalties (only more severe).  The Rockets can ill afford to lose Harden even 1 game because that scrappy Utah squad (minus Hayward but adding that amazing rookie, Donovan Mitchell) is making a series of it and could upset the Rockets.

I'm not singling out the Lone Star state regarding anything I stated above.  Every state has its own "home town justice" it renders, more favorably slanted in favor of the rich and famous, as well as its own citizens including those in NE.

Incidentally, I lived in Houston for a few years and became a C's fan when they drafted Don Chaney out of the U of H the year the Elvin Hayes led Cougars beat UCLA in the Astrodome so I became a fan after The Russel led dynasty (and not a bandwaggoner from the "glory days) continuing to the present day.

lol

Lots of lawyers on this board.

Yeah no kidding. I thought it was kind of a clever way to confront an obvious jerk. I'm 100% fine if the phone gets busted, and I'm fine if Harden has to shell out the $700 for a new one.

What a misleading title. Was the guy really assaulted? That seems like a pretty loose interpretation. Also, did the police really do nothing? It seemed like they took the side of the player putting a heckler in his place. I think it was clear they were trying to get the heckler out of that area.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

lol all you guys supporting Harden are funny...this is quite simple the fan insulted Harden, Harden touched the fan without his consent. Nothing that happens afterwards will ever change those facts. Nothing.

Not what the officers did or did not do, not if Harden never pays for his action, not even if a Texas jury finds that it was the fan that assaulted Harden. The two facts I have cited will always remain true.

Now you guys go ahead and argue opinions and feelings, those facts will always remain.
