Let Embiid have his points

I know it's only one game, but, watching game 1, I was fine with defending Embiid one on one with either Horford or Baynes. Sure, he had a monster game and scored more often than not but I'd rather have him play one-on-one like that and keep their shooters out of open looks (you could tell Embiid was not passing the ball to anyone once he got it in the post) than the other way around.

What do you think about this strategy ? I also get the feeling that Philly is not that tough mentally : Simmons looked out of the game after he saw how well we defended him and it seems to me they're playing like crazy when they have the lead but get down really quickly when you have a 10+ point lead on them. Sure, rust played a part, but still. Maybe the hype got to them and they thought they are better than they are (although I wouldn't expect Covington and Ilyasova to miss the wide open 3's they got).

I was saying almost this exact thing to my brother earlier.

He definitely scored a lot, but their offence looks a lot less threatening when it's just pass it to Embiid and everyone stand around stationary. With his BBIQ being not too great (and maybe the mast ;) ) he didn't seem like he was ever kicking it out, even though there were a couple of occasions where shooters were open.

Plus, he doesn't have the greatest stamina. You could see by the end of the game after ~32 minutes or so he was gassed. Wasn't getting back on defence and was giving Al wide open jumpers without even trying to contest

It worked with the Bucks. Im pretty sure it will work with the Sixers as well.

100% agree

Simmons (keep out of the paint) and their shooters (stay home on them) are the threat. Those guys are easier to stop than Embiid and more important to the Sixers overall offense.

Let Embiid have big games. Stop those other dudes.

Baynes cannot allow him to push him under the basket. There needs to be a double team but not what you guys think. When Embiid starts to make his move someone needs to fake cheat over.
