Smart once again!
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

I've simply accepted it. smart is invaluable. sure we p---. moan. Edited.  Profanity and masked profanity are against forum rules and may result in discipline. and whine but he is HUGE fior this team.
LET'S GO CELTICS!

I'd strongly argue that we've been playing our best ball of this entire season since the ASB - far better than during much of our big winning streak early in the season.

Marcus Smart is playing some unbelievable defense.

He should be first team all-D and finish top 5 in DPOY votes. He's more important than Horford on that end in my opinion.

3 offensive fouls drawn in the first half.

50-40 at halftime.  If Celtics hold Pacers to 80 some points we will win this game for sure.  Loved the defensive intensity of our guys.  We got a few lucky bounces on offense but lots of hustle to gain those extra possessions too.

Thats a great half. 10 point lead on a very solid Indiana team without Big Al or Brown.

Lets finish this game out with a strong second half. These wins are really something to build on.

If I recall, the Pacers kicked the Celtics' ass the last time they played mostly because of Oladipo. Smart was out that game.

Oladipo has struggled mightily this game and I guarantee the reason why is Marcus Smart.

His defensive instincts are incredible to watch, especially as someone who prefers solid defense over flashy offense.  I loved the KG-era defense-first, grind it out ugly type of games.

We all know that you can't teach the kind of things that Smart does.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
That's Smart's 3rd turnover that he's forced.  2 charges and a great steal earlier.  We need him to stick around next year.

I love Smart and want to keep him long term, but we need him to be less impactful for that to happen. Please at least stop hitting your 3s, Marcus!!

Kyrie is out.  What did I miss?

And now Smart is hurt.  Just great.
