Would definitely resign him for something like 11 million per year through 4 years if he proves that his shooting after the injury isn't a fluke.
Jaylen Brown for All-NBA

I like Smart and think he proved his value while he was out.

Yet have you ever noticed that when the Celts win and the other team's star guard/swing man does badly Smart gets the credit, but whenever the Celts lose and the other team's star guard has a great night Smart never gets the blame?

Pepridge Farms has noticed.
This is such a dumb thread to bring up after today. Why would Smart ever deserve the blame after tonight? He kept them in the game while missing 3 starters. He had 20 points, 7 rebounds, 8 assists, 4 steals, and 6/12 3s. I don't know why you would bring this up lol
I'm not saying Smart should get the blame for the loss. He was the best Celtic and kept us in it.
However I am saying when the other team's guards have slightly off nights and the Celts win Smart gets credit for his defense. But when the Celts play matador defense like last night Smart never gets blame.

Yeah there's something to that.

I've noticed when he has a great +/- but shoots bad, everyone points it out but when his +/- is bad it gets dismissed by those same people because 1 game +/- numbers are useless(which is true)

That said, I thought Smart played elite defense last night. I believe the biggest reason we lost is because Brad didn't keep Marcus on Oladipo. We were too willing to switch and guys like rozier and Larkin just couldn't hang with him.

Also worth noting, giving up 97 to the Pacers isn't too bad. Especially considering Horford and Jaylen didn't play.

This has been my issue almost all season. Our guys almost force a switch when it's not necessary. You will see someone run over and almost double a guy when his defender is still in perfect defensive position, half the time without a screen. Or then you have the opposite which rozier likes to do, he expects that someone is going to switch onto his guy so he plays crap defense and let's his guy by and there's no one to switch so he's just giving up wide open drives all game. It's infuriating. I get that our gameplan is to switch but that doesn't mean get yourself or your teammates into tough spots just because the gameplan is to switch on PnR
everyone got so sensitive after 9-11... thanks alot bin laden

It was a problem last year too and it was hugely frustrating.

AB and Marcus are two of the few guys that can hang with elite scorers on the perimeter but we were always more than willing to switch on half-assed picks leaving Kyrie Irving or James Harden on Kelly Olynyk when we could have had AB or Marcus hounding them.

One of my only issues with Brad and his system.
