You know, Brad, perhaps if you wouldn't play Smart in these types of lineups where he's essentially  forced to become a scorer he wouldn't play like this. There's no reason this lineup should be out there without one of our better scorers. When are you going to learn??

This.   Smart is a "scorer" with this unit.  When his focus is on D and distributing with no pressure to score Marcus is a much better player.
most likely why he's so valuable in close games down the stretch.  we have other scorers on the floor with him

I mean, he is out there with Tatum. I think he should be the primary option in this group.

True, but he's essentially worthless out there offensively other than a floor spacer the way he's playing him. If Tatum is out there with those guys, he should clearly be the main offensive option, which he's not been so far this season.

But with us having five legit scorer types  in Kyrie, Brown, Tatum, Al, and Morris, we should NEVER be out there with less than two of those guys. Yet Brad regularly plays with just one or even none of those guys out there, and we ALWAYS end up giving up significant points.
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Wrap your head around this: Marcus Smart has taken the most shots for anyone on the Celtics.

How much time would you give a player to develop anyway?
