Just watching the youtube they talk about celtics win streak without Godon, and start to imagine
"what if he pulls a miracle and come back after 3 months"
And i shockingly find myself feeling disappointed ,because i want our young guys to improve as much/fast as possible, and it's such a joy watching them improve game by game

To think about this:Gordon is the most complete/proved veteran and familiar with the Coach and has been play in a good system in Utah, which means he won't need as much time as KI/Morris/young guys to get there/adapt(and to prove) when he come back, the same can be said about Baynes/AL but they are actually more(relatively) can't-afford-to-lose

And when he comes back we will have a much better team than No-Gordon Injury-Celtic
it almost looks like it's a plan of basketball God to lead this team to the promised land

It's pretty cool, except for the part about us having dramatically lower chances to win a championship this year.

Eh, I'd say the chances are something like 8% down to 5-4%.
The only real mistake is the one from which we learn nothing.

Not if Gordon comes back on March before the playoffs, which is certainly a possibility

I’d be thrilled to have Hayward back early so long as he was 100%. Tatum and Brown will develop regardless.

Echoing what Roy said, I wouldn’t want him back unless he’s at 100%. There’s just too much risk. But this team has impressed me thus far and I’m looking forward to next year. I think we stand a good chance at #18 if Hayward comes back, and Brown and Tatum continue developing.

I think Gordon’s injury is mostly a negative.  It most diminishes our chances this year even if he comes back.  He probably won’t be the same, will need time to reacclimate, and Jaylen and Jason aren’t nearly ready.  And I think long term the injury doesn’t do all that much for Jaylen and Jason development.  In two three years they’ll be what they’ll be regardless.

As for watching them grow, frankly, Gordon Hayward is what i’d like the to be someday.  I think Tatum has a decent chance to get there, Jaylen not as much.  So give me Gordon Hayward now rather than having to wait a few years to maybe have something like him.

I would hope they don't bring him back early. I know docs will clear him but I think some players will play when they know they probably aren't really ready. They play through most anything.
It takes me 3hrs to get to Miami and 1hr to get to Orlando... but I *SPIT* on their NBA teams! "Bless God and bless the (Celts)"-Lady GaGa (she said gays but she really meant Celts)

Its good to see the young guys succeeding but I think watching Hayward work and execute in the system would be a huge help in the young guys growth. Hayward makes a lot of savvy plays and is able to take over a qtr by creating for others. Those are things Brown and Tatum need to work on. Also the rotation would be nuts right now at SG/SF. Hope he does get back soon.

Only the "sky is falling"crowd thought the season was over.

For a franchise coming off a 53-win top seed season, after losing their prized free agent minutes into his Celtics career, I’d say that’s a plausible reaction.

For years we waited for fireworks. We were teased with rumors of potential blockbusters every deadline/off-season. And then Ainge finally looked at his hand, checked his pot, and made his a bid nobody saw coming. We got a team to be excited about now and later.

And then 5:15 into our journey Gordon Hayward suffers one of the ugliest injuries the NBA has seen.

It's kind of a silver lining if you assume that Hayward will come back 100%. If he doesn't, no silver lining is worth much compared to what we lost.

It also delays the time Hayward could have spent getting acclimated to his teammates.

And just from a cost/benefit standpoint, we are missing a max salary's worth of production for almost an entire season. Tatum is getting some experience, sure, but we can't assume it isn't experience he wouldn't have gotten eventually down the line anyway.

It all does seem fantastic at the moment, but we need to be aware that season is long and we just got started. The next, even small injurie can change things a lot and yet they do happen every year in every team, we just can't avoid that. Of course, we expect Morris to be ready soon and we should make him contribute right away, because at some point Horford will need some rest, not to mention if he misses some games.

Bad things are going to happen in life.  Once you realize this and accept this, one becomes more resilient.   Take my word, from a veteran, things will not always go your way.

Either way, the season was going to go on.   We have youth that will get experience and exposure.  Is it ideal, nope.  Did it stink that we lost, Hayward, absolutely.   But life goes on, as does the NBA season.   No need to go snowflake here, the world did not end.
