Oh man, I wasn't even thinking that they don't have either Gordon or Ariza. That's crazy. A GS/Houston matchup will be VERY interesting, and it could really, really help out the East champion by finally catching GS after actually getting challenged in a series.

Houston is now going to be 22-1 with all three of Paul-Harden-Capela in the lineup.

If they get completely healthy I think they can absolutely give GSW a run for their money.

It is proven that D'Antoni teams don't make it that far in the playoffs. The furthest one went was back when Steve Nash was still in Phoenix. And Chris Paul have some sort of curse or something with his 2nd-round luck. I'll believe it when I see it.

GSW is definitely still the favorite, nobody is challenging that.

But this Houston team seems like they absolutely have the firepower to keep up with the Dubs.  We'll see if they have the fortitude.

Do they have good enough defense? Because that's the only way to slow down the Warriors. Many have tried to outgun Golden State and failed.

Capela, Paul, Ariza, Tucker and LRMAM are all good to very good defenders.

I think the only thing stopping the Rockets is whether or not their stars have the mental fortitude to keep going when the going gets tough.  It's a legit concern.

Wonder if Lebron is thinking in the back of his very small mind: "Ya know, King, maybe we should have treated Kyrie Irving with a lot more respect and maturity than we did!"

TP for the thought, but you're giving Bron Bron WAY too much credit.

He doesn't have the capacity to make that extrapolation

Interesting. Even Lebron is shutting down this talk about this being just like past seasons. He's directly saying to the media that this is about his lowest point in his career, much worse than previous years.

He also seemed to subtly put pressure on management to make changes when it came to talking about trades. Pretty candid stuff from Lebron.

Slightly OT: It's for this reason that I'm not afraid of Toronto at all if we face them in the playoffs. No matter how strong their supporting cast is, Derozan and Lowry disappear when it matters the most.

It's funny that the trade was done between Clippers & Pistons as they both have really stunted their growth with continued misses with low 1st round picks after hitting on a lottery big man (Griffin/Drummond) and trading for a guard (Paul/Jackson). Clippers gave away most picks and the others were terrible misses and the same can be said with Pistons, if Detroit didn't pick Luke Kennard over Donovan Mitchell they actually would be in fantastic shape, long and short term.

These were some of Detroits recent draft decisions:

2017: Kennard over Mitchell
2016: Ellenson over Murray, Brogdon, McCaw
2015: Johnson over Turner, Booker, Oubre Jr.

Pistons also drafted Spencer Dinwiddie then traded him to free up a roster spot

Denver Nuggets are truly are an up and coming team, would not really want to face em in the first round or any round in the playoffs...they just spank a completely healthy GS team.

If playoffs started today, we'd be playing PHI. Toronto would play Miami, Washington would play Indiana, and Cleveland would play Milwaukee.

How would we feel about a first round match up vs. PHI? Embiid and Simmons are scary but I think we could wear them down in a series and win it still (in 5, maybe 6 games).

With Kyrie, Hayward, Smart, Larkin and Morris all out we'll lose in 5 or 6 games if the playoffs started today lol.

Its good for Detriot

Blake needed to get out of LA limelight and SEE the rest of the world.

What can you say about these Jazz.
Have beaten fairly good competition and are the hottest team in the NBA right now.

I really hope someone comes on here later and talks about how the Cav will be fine after they beat Orlando.
