The whole clip isn't that bad and is a fairly reasonable position from Silver who unlike most commissioners is pretty open with his personal thoughts on all sorts of teams and issues.  Makes the office a lot more transparent and Silver more likeable then someone like Goodell.
2025 Historical Draft - Cleveland Cavaliers - 1st pick

The only reason he feels bad is because if Cleveland implodes then GSW will have no competition in the Finals, Finals ratings will suck, and less money will flow into the league.

Playoff ratings already sucked enough last year to cause the cap to decrease, and cost us Avery Bradley in the process.
I thought the playoff ratings at least in the finals were pretty good.  The problem was way too many non-competitive series especially with the Cavs and GSW resulted in fewer games and less revenue.

Was that why/how Cleveland got all those#1 picks?

He said something similar when Durant left Oklahoma City for Golden State.  He was pretty vocal about the Carmelo/Jackson drama in New York.  This is what I like about Silver.  He is connected to the "drama" and actually speaks about it, even when he doesn't like it.

No, that was just because they were lucky.

I really like silver, he's been very open and most of all he's willing to help the Celtics 8) (let's hope he helps us one more time and we end up with Bagley and Ayton) ;D

He's not saying it like he's rooting for Cleveland. He said he likes excitement but doesn't like drama, and there's a whole lot of drama going on in Cleveland right now. He doesn't think it's the right kind of attention for the league.
