It's already out there in other threads. Largely speculative.

I still believe that we should try to make a deal around Porzingis instead.

The way I see it Knicks need some really good defensive guards, so maybe we could send Smart and Bradley for Porzingis or Crowder and one of Smart and Bradley.

That way we can dump some salary and at the same time we would be strengthened on the bigs and they will be strengthened on the guards and maybe on the wing especially as they will the move Melo to the 4.

We would have to give up at least one 1st, and if we protect our good 1st then we have to send several.

Actually Knicks might have a decent starting five of Rondo and Bradley(that have worked before), Crowder, Melo and Hernangomez. In a week Eastern Conference that might bring them in contention for a playoff spot.

Thanks for posting; that report isn't very encouraging. It says "New York’s interest in Smart currently is 'unclear',” and that it would likely take a different player/package to get Willy.

To bad we can't trade Smart to them for Willy...   Salary Cap rules suck don't they.

I don't think salary cap is the issue.  I think they would laugh at the proposed trade itself.

Insanity.  Phil Jackson was just fired because he was even considering trading Porzingis.

It's really time to put down the fantasy's of gobert, Porzingis, AD.  It's just not gonna happen.  We hit our lottery with Horford last year and Hayward this year.  Now the roster will be tweaked and this will be the team going forward with the focus on building through the draft for the next two years.

PJ didn't get fired because of the Porzingis case. He got fired because he has done a really bad job in general, and by the way he fell asleep during a practice.

I think the Porzingis-case was just a really small part of it.

Why on earth should Porzingis not be available for a trade. He is not happy in New York, and yes it helped a bit that PJ is out, but still he is on a losing team with a lot of internal problems and he think he is larger than life.

Porzingis trade would be a dream come true.  But we will probably have to set our sights lower and accept Hernangomez instead if we deal Smart to the Knicks.

I don't see any way Porzingis comes back unless we offer either the Brooklyn pick or the Lakers pick.  I would probably be quite ok with offering the Lakers pick + Smart + sweetners for Porzingis.  But no idea if Knicks would do such a deal right now.
