Per Mannix, two league executives consider Marc Gasol a player to watch as Celtics angle for further upgrades.

I think I like.

with Zach Randolph out of there, it may appear that Griz might go for a rebuild, i wonder what the price they're gonna slap on him?

I'd give up the Lakers/Phi pick at least for him, and see who else they want

Not sure personally, he's due for an injury plagued season, and he's getting old. But, we might have to take the risk regardless.

Depends on what we give up.

I would love Marc Gasol on this team. We would be complete as a roster. How the heck can we fit his contract into the cap and still make room to sign Hayward though. Doesn't Gasol make 25 million a year? We are having trouble making room for Hayward as is, and I am sure we would not trade Horford for Gasol.

I'd say, give them their own pick back.

I don't think he's the answer anymore. Maybe 5 years ago.

I think the league will free AD from the moribund Pelicans franchise by next trade deadline at the latest and Danny will be waiting when it happens. No way AD will rot away in that black hole for much longer..

I would love AB to stay, but AB, Crowder and future 1st should be able to get this done and moves Horford to PF... A lineup of Gasol, Horford, Hayward, IT and JB can do damage against ANY team

Would seem hard to get a trade that fits him in. Talking about giving up a lot of players to match that salary. But I'm open to hearing it hehehe.

Two things I worry about is health and foot speed.

You do realize that pick isn't a second rounder right?

If we can make it work, then YES PLEASE.
Big with an outside shot. If he can stay on the court I think this puts us ahead of Cleveland in the East.

If Hayward signed for just below the max, we'd have to send out $17 - $18 million in salary. (I think Gasol makes around $22.5 million).

That means we'd trade AB, Jae and Smart, just to make salaries work. Then, figure we're giving up the Memphis pick, and a couple of more #1s.

Is it worth it?

Gasol / Zizic
Horford /
Hayward / Tatum
Brown /
IT

We'd obviously have to fill out the roster beyond just our rookies, but I'd do it.

I'M THE SILVERBACK GORILLA IN THIS MOTHER... AND DON'T NONE OF YA'LL EVER FORGET IT!

KP / Giannis / Turkuglu / Jrue / Curry
Sabonis / Brand / A. Thompson / Oladipo / Brunson
Jordan / Bowen

I worry he is another soft rebounder and not a huge scorer. Seems we could do better..

Thanks for the breakdown Roy. If that's how it would work, I would certainly do it. That's a fantastic lineup, and we would be able to attract some decent vet min players to fill out the roster. I'm sure Theis and Gerald Green would be part of the roster too.

We could do better than a multiple time all-star, top tier two-way center? Who do you suggest we can do better with?

Depends on which route they go.

1. Horford at center, backed up by Theis. Put as many wings on the court at the same time, positionless basketball.

2. Horford at PF, Gasol at Center. They would be going big and they would be deadly on offense. They would be good at defense inside and they would control the paint. But can they guard the entire floor and a team that puts several shooters out there?
