Anthony was much more athletic than Tatum.  Nobody sees that?
Um, no. Anthony was never considered an explosive athlete. He had a great first step because he had the strength Tatum right now lacks. He came into the league about 230 while Tatum is maybe 205.

The reason why Tatum is compared to Anthony is they are isolation scorers that can face-up, score in the post and thrive on making tough, two-point jumpers. Once Tatum adds weight he will almost be a Carmelo clone. The Pierce comparisons are a little lazy cause Tatum is bigger. He might end up 6'9" 240.
When they dunk, Anthony's elbows were at the rim.  Tatum's wrists get above the rim.

Basketball Reference says only 152 boxscore lines in  NBA history like Tatum's

Pts>=21
Steals >=5
Rebounds>=7
Turnovers <=1

Hahahaha!!! I'll stop now.

Yea stop.

Quite right - no blocks ?!?!?

Maybe need to reduce expectations from Pippen to Pierce.

Looked very smooth given he hadn't played in a while and albeit against SL competition. But he looks to have all the tools, what we will see through the year is if he has the drive and work ethic to improve and succeed.

No way I can enjoy these games this week  :(   Is there any way to watch the game replay? Any page that collects them? I have some of them for the regular season, but they don't seem to have the summer league games.

If links cannot be posted, I'd be very thankful and award a TP for any private notification.

Tatum's game is comparable to Carmelo for how they play the game and their skillsets. But it always surprises me how much people forget about Carmelo's athleticism.

As far as his ability to jump yes.  Otherwise I don't know how much difference there really is.   He has great footwork, quick feet, moves very well.

It's probably about the difference between Melo and Pierce as athletes.  He's similar to Jabari.

To me Tatum physically reminds me of Otto Porter which is a good thing.  On offense he is way above Porter coming in and maybe even now, plus really huge potential.  I think he could be a really good team defender rotating in a defense with his length.

Um, no. This is a weird and silly way to determine athleticism. Now here are actual stats which always trump made up nonsense.

At the 2003 NBA Pre-Draft Camp, Anthony had a standing vert jump of 30.5" and a Max Vert of 33.5". He measured 6'7 1/2" with shoes and was 233lbs. He was 19 and already physically mature and he would play at 230-240 for most of his career.

If you read that Anthony had a 41" max vert jump anywhere it is bogus. Sort of like Andre the Giant being 7'4". 33.5" was his max vert jump. To give you a comparison this pre-draft camp TJ Leaf, who is considered a mediocre athlete, had a 34.5" max vert. Semi Ojeleye had a 40.5"

Carmelo was not a great leaper and even worse was a slow leaper. He usually led all forwards every year in getting his shot blocked. He was most effective with a running start from outside the lane where he could use his superior strength to dunk.

Can Tatum beat 33.5"? Well we don't have any stats on him but I would stay it is highly likely he would be higher than Carmelo. But we don't have anything to back that up right now.

The players Tatum most compares to are Anthony and Parker. He is an inch taller than Anthony and the same height as Parker. He has a greater standing reach than either and a comparable wing span. The difference is that Anthony was 233 entering the league and Parker was 240. So Tatum has to add weight. I could easily see him at 6'9" 240 for his playing career and like the others be a 3/4 hybrid.

what we need .....somebody besides IT who can get himself a shot when game is on the line .

If , Brown can keep inproving his jumper , we know he can get about anywhere he wants .....limited to his handle and jumper right now.

Would really help IT , so teams,double him ....Brown and Tatum will make em pay.

might just be my green goggles but Tatum does look more polished and has a mature game compared to Fultz, not a knock on Fultz by any means, kid has a very smooth jumper and very quick...saw those spin moves draftexpress was talking about in full action yesterday, deadly and fast...but I feel he's a bit more wild than Tatum...however the same could be said about Brown, he was very eager to attack and committed some what I think were dumb turnovers

but the duel definitely met my expectations, definitely a fun game to watch
