Jaylen looked like a stud compared to players his own age. Just dominant.

Tatum impressed. Advanced offensive game with a great basketball body ready to be filled out with man muscle.

Nader wasn't impressive. Looked completely lost for half the game. Very poor defense though there wasn't a lot of defense played.

Jackson os not an NBA player, would rather give his slot to Allen.

Zizic looks slow, plodding, with poor footwork, and no lift. Also, a black hole. Didn't look like he has good upside at all.

Ojeleye had glimpses of being a player but was completely lost on the defensive end. Probably playing in Portland all year.

looks like zizic cannot jump. i am not liking what i am seeing. very disappointed.
Zizic played a very long European season. But people will make their snap judgements.

Fultz - Even when he started the game in a defensive stance, its not hard for summer league PGs to get past him and he is trying to block the shot from behind. I can't imagine him guarding Westbrook or someone shifty like Isiah Thomas...he has no chance. Fultz is going to need to be protected. Maybe JJ Reddick isn't the best running mate since he also isn't a great defender. Fultz will be like IT and Kyrie in that they will have to hide him on Defense because NBA guards are going to get past him easy. Kind of sad considering Fultz has no excuses with his tremendous size for a guard

Agreed - his assist-to-turnover ratio, alone, showed to be advanced far beyond his years ::). Oh well, at least he actually rebounded :-\. Still can't dribble, though, lol.
Thats what you took out of that game. Dang. Here let me put it in language you will understand.  ::) ::) ::)

Actually, no, it wasn't, but thank you for attempting to put words in my mouth ::) while also insulting my posting style or whatever the official term is.  You stay classy, nickagenta ::).

Its getting old Beat LA.

Anyway, Im not worried about Zizic, he's probably adjusting to the altitude and its too early to tell (including Tatum). Brown we know can contribute on the highest level so this isnt a surprise.

It is important in SL to assess fixable weaknesses and workable strengths of each player rather than their physical performance and output. Brown needs to work in some areas but I know he knows it and is working hard to correct these. Tatum should work on making quicker decisions on the basketball, would make him deadly in our system if he does.

That shot to win the game! And Jaylen gets the block on Fultz at the end!

Important not to get carried away though. Zizic had his first game in the USA, I don't expect him to be the finished product. Let's give him a few months before we claim to be down on him.

Zizic is only 20 and needs some time to adapt to this level. With our coaching staff, no doubt he'll be good. Half of Europe wanted him last summer, it's not a coincidence. Just patience.

Your level of arrogance and condescension?  Yes, I completely agree.  At the end of the day, they're smiley faces, people.  Get over it.

I do agree with you about Brown's work ethic, however, and I was wondering about Zizic and the altitude, as well :), although it doesn't look like he shoots three pointers so I don't see how he'll ever be able to get on the court for us as a big guy, lol ::).

You are just crying for attention. Perfect example was your post in the roster with non-max. You just wanted to troll people with your lack of common sense.

Tatum already has the offensive game Crowder wishes for. Nice balance and release on his shots .

Crowder is the superior defender no question with his NBA experience and mature body and muscluar bulk.

You already see how coach Marcus Smart impacts the rookies ....Jaylons tuff ness ......who is now passing on the same to Jayson.

We already have a good team with Marcus jb jt at the core.  That's good youth.  Now if we can get IT To stop being a ball hog

IT is not a ball hog.  Nobody else can come close to creating off the dribble like him on our team.  This year could be a little different with improved play from Brown, Tatum on the team, and hopefully Hayward.

IT is kind of a ball hog/ball dominant.

Guys need to chill out on Ziczic. It's summer league it's guard dominated. He's mot om the team to run up and down the court with KD and Lebron. He's there to smack the hell out of the bigs that dominate us on the boards!

He looked gassed to me, which made him look slow.   I don't think he is a savior type guy.  He did play hard but looked tired.

That Bolden guy looked like a stud.  I liked his motor and intensity.   Philly might have a second round gem.  Fultz has a lot of young LeBron in him.   He avoided shots when the game was on the line.  Tatum looks like he wants to be that guy when the game is on the line and the polar opposite.

I can't see us keeping Crowder if we sign Hayward if Tatum plays like this all the time.   He most likely won't though.

Its summer league and it means nothing.  I think Tatum looked encouraging.  Brown looked like a world beater.  Still, I would rather see a guy do well than struggle.

Some thoughts:

My biggest gripe with Tatum's game is that he doesn't make decisions quickly.  He gets the ball, faces up, jabs, takes a bounce or two, and NOW he's ready to make a move.  This does the defense a lot of favors, and the quicker the Celtics coaches erase all of the extra crap, the better.  Aside from that, he's a natural scorer and he's not the liability on defense that some claimed in the days leading up to the draft.  Looking forward to watching him play in real games.

Fultz left me with a few questions.  We know his handle is very nice, and we know he can shoot.  Can he finish in the paint over/around/through length?  Can he make his free throws?  Is he willing to learn how to play defense?  No question that he'll be good though.

Jaylen Brown had it going last night.  Need to see better decision-making when passing the ball.  I appreciate that he was trying to keep his teammates involved, but making stupid passes to the other team is not the way.  He's an athletic freak though.

I want to see more from Ojeleye.  His shot looks good, but he'll need to make a lot of progress on defense before he earns minutes.

Not sure what a lot of you were expecting with Zizic.  He looked exactly how I expected him to look before he gassed out.  Active, runs the floor, good on the glass, but he's ground-bound and not especially quick.  Need to see him improve his conditioning - getting visibly exhausted in 19 minutes is pretty bad even for Summer League.  I think he can help us in time, but expecting him to come in and be our starting center is wishful thinking.  Probably a situational guy at best in his first year.

Not especially interested in anybody else.

Correct, and he has never really played by NBA/American rules.
