Why? Are we trading crowder or AB?

We just drafted a guy who plays the same role.

Crowder & AB play the same role as Gallo would?

Playing on the wing, I would imagine.

Unless the notion is to fix the interior defense and rebounding by playing Gallo beside Al Horford?

NO, God No. Hayward, Millsap (3 years), or save that cap.

my best case scenario as well.
and also one big NO for Galo.

if Hayward doesn't sign, trade Crowder and let the young guns play
I would not trade Crowder he is an absolute steal. Let Brown and Tatum come off the bench to help out AB and Crowder.

Because we want someone on the team other than IT that can actually shoot.

Again, presumably we drafted Jaylen Brown and Jayson Tatum for a reason.

Why spend money on Gallo? He won't give the Celts a chance against Cleveland.

Because Jaylen and Jayson need a couple of more years before they are ready to be full time starters and we want to compete now. We would also lose our cap space if we don't use it.

Also, Galinari would definitely help against Cleveland. We desperately needed at least someone other that IT who could hit a shot, we didn't have that.

Not very exciting. Only injury plagued guy I was interested in was Griffin. Much rather pursue Melo! Still don't understand why we didn't get a big man in the Philly trade? :-\

Gallinari is ASKING for a "Chandler Parsons" type contract....

http://www.sportingnews.com/nba/news/nba-free-agency-danilo-gallinari-denver-nuggets-chandler-parsons-clippers-rockets-celtics/q5c56fyjsqj1hwiutoon5y92

Unless his price actually came down, I'm not that high on getting him.

Also, a 4 year deal for him is risky, and he will probably get one from some team. Pass.

God I would cry if this is all we got.

We passed on doing any deals in February, and we passed on getting Fultz to save cap room, and all we are getting is Danilo Gallinari?

Good Lord. I'd rather blow it up than pretend that this move is going to make us much better.

Gallinari? Really.

We could have had Boogie, Butler, George or Hayward and all we are going to be boasting about with our cap saving, asset grabbing moves is Danilo freaking Gallinari?

The only thing worse than not signing Hayward would be watching the team squander the necessary cap room on a free-agent that's not going to help them long term and will tie up cap room disproportionate to his contributions.

Noooooooooo. Since the 10-11 season Gallinari has only played in roughly 63% of all possible regular season games. He's 6'10, so you might think he'd be a good stretch four except he's not a good rebounder. Only 4.7 rebounds a game (in 31 min) over his career, 5.2 rebounds a game last season. That's essentially the same as the 6'6 Jae Crowder. Why would we want to pay this guy to come in and take minuets away from Brown and Tatum. And do not say its because the Celtics "want to contend." We aren't contending with Gallinari.

In this conference the Celts will make the playoffs so long as they have Thomas and Horford.

Why pay more for a team with no higher ceiling than last year's squad?

Not often, but off the top of my head we've seen Norman Powell, Marcus Smart, Malcom brogdon, maker, justice Winslow and jaylen brown all start games in the Eastern conference in the last 3 years.

Gallinari is somewhat stiff!

Stiffer than Bird with the back brace to his nipples at 36 years old.

Gallo is a perfect fit on this team - a Kelly Olynyk who can actually drive and kick, has mid range game, and has some athleticism.

Injuries are certainly a problem but he is worth $20M for a 1+1.
