I think a Thomas/Wiggins/Hayward trio with Bradley off the bench would be a very interesting team.  It is too much to give up with the inclusion of the pick, but I'd probably do Brown/Smart for Wiggins.  I don't think Boston is keeping both Bradley and Smart next off season, and I'd rather keep Bradley long term.  Brown may some day maybe be as good as Wiggins is now, but it won't be next year, and Wiggins will still get better (unless he is that rare player that peaks at age 22 in his third year).  I mean the scouting report on Wiggins was that he would be special defensively and a work in progress offensively.  Clearly that has been reversed, but I can't imagine all of those scouts got Wiggins' defensive potential wrong.  I think you put him on Boston where he won't be relied on as much for scoring and he should start getting closer to his defensive potential.

Remove the Lakers pick and you've got yourself a deal. I still believe in Wiggins and I think he can be something special if he's in the right situation. Boston could be the right situation for him.

Well, the scouts got it wrong. He is not just a bad defensive player. He is maybe the worst in the league when you consider you could replace him with air and there would be no difference in an opponents shooting % when he defends them. Teams were attacking him. He is just a black hole right now and a change of scenery isn't going to change that 4 years into the league.  Thibodeau is maybe one of the best defensive coaches in the last 20 years and he couldn't do anything about his awful footwork, horrible positioning, and total lack of instincts.

Brown is right now a greater factor than Wiggins cause he can at least defend at league average and he has shown the potential for more.

People see the 23.6 average and get suckered in by the #1 pick status. When in reality you have a player who can't defend, pass, or rebound, and offers nothing more than volume scoring as a wing. A skill almost no team needs. If you need an inefficient scorer who gets points by taking a lot of shots than by all means trade for him. But giving up a player two years younger and with a much higher ceiling as a complete player, a player in Smart who is already more useful than Wiggins, and a high lottery pic? That is insanity.

He is a better all around offensive player than you are giving him credit for.  he gets to the line a lot. He has improved his shooting every season.  He did manage 4 rebounds and 2.3 assists last year.  He doesn't turn the ball over hardly at all (Crowder is the only rotation player on the C's with a lower TOV% and he has the ball no where near as much as Wiggins).  There is no question he has been a bad defender, but he is 22 on a team surrounded by bad defenders.  I expect to see a jump defensively with him playing next to Butler this year.

Wiggins is pretty underrated on this blog. I don't think he can be a star either, but he could average 25 a game next year. That's pretty impressive. Please don't use empty stats crap as an arguement. Minnesota has enough scorers on that team, the fact that Wiggins gets that many shots up speaks volumes in regards to his talent.

Now I wouldn't do the trade because everyone here should know how much I love Brown. They can have Smart though.

Wow really? Trade 2 of our best assets for Wiggins?

Did you even put more then 10 seconds of thought into this trade?  And if so how did you come to the idea that it was a good one.

Absolutely, 100%, NO WAY!

Andrew Wiggins could be good, but he's not worth that much, especially when he came into the league supposedly as a potential "lock down defender" but ended up being one of, if not the worst wing defender in the league.

Pass. I'd rather sign Rudy Gay. He's also going to get us 22 ppg a game, but he won't cost us Smart's defense, Brown's potential, and maybe Michael Porter, Jr.

Why the F would Minnesota trade him now btw?

They go get JB only to get rid of one of their younger stars who's about to entire his prime for some kids who are 2-3 years away from hitting their prime?

I mean, the things that people post here make me question the IQ of NBA fans

He doesn't have the drive to use the gifts he has. The NBA is super competitive.

I still think Brown might not become anything. But I also think Wiggins is overrated and just an athletic scorer (lesser Derozen).

The Nets will finish with the worst record and the Celtics will end up with the 4th pick.
