If you're Ainge don't you make the trade anyway just to keep him off the Lakers even if it's for a year. He has to protect his investment in that pick. He can make an offer without giving up a crazy amount and give PG a chance to taste a deep playoff run.

If the Lakers trade for Paul George I guess we 'll end up with the Sacramento pick. Last time the Kings got a top 3 pick was in 1991. So yeah, it's possible we traded the #1 pick for #3 and a mid/late lotto pick 2 years down the road. Great job Danny boy!

Didn't The Kings get the #3 this year but thanks to a trade with the 6ers they had to swap?
They had the 8th worst record though. They just got ''lucky'' in the lottery.

There is no way, if I'm Danny, do I offer ANYTHING for George.  That ship has sailed and will arrive in Los Angeles, sooner or later.

Hopefully that door can close and we can focus on those individuals whom we can bring onto the team that will actually stay with the team more than a year.

Will the Lakers trade the #2 pick, Mosgov and Deng for PG13?

Why PG wants to go to the Lakers and lose is bewildering.

If Magic gets him now, If I were Ainge I would trade the pick immediately.

Like I hate to say it but sometimes people post the dumbest things. How bout you flip this as if Paul George said he was going to be a Celtic next summer. Would you then trade them #3, crowder, and smart? NO you will keep your assets and trade them for someone else as you know you're getting him for free. Like cmon guys 🙄.

If I'm Ainge, Stevens, IT and Horford, I look PG in the face and dare him to walk out of the Celtics organization to join the Lakers.

In LA
-same amount of money (higher taxes)
-in the west...never getting past Warriors or Spurs
-lose for 2 more years
-might as well stay in Indy...at least they made the playoffs

compared to in Boston
-same amount of money
-deep playoff, possible Finals next year
-when Bron declines, the East is yours.
-sign a 2+1 deal with Boston and then possibly go join Lakers once they are winning again

Another way to look at this is that the most we were ever going to get to move 2 picks down and get a guy we like as much as the guy projected as #1 was a 1st rounder.  The protection was very smart as it either conveys as a great pick in 2018 or conveys in 2019 to a team that projects to be horrible -- as in no great prospects and no ability to sign decent FAs.

Who said trade the #3 pick? I said that Ainge should trade the Lakers 2018 pick if PG goes to the Lakers. That pick will lose value and not be a top 5 pick.

So, with cousins on the team they had the eighth worst record in the league. I wonder how they will so without him?
I believe Gandhi is the only person who knew about real democracy — not democracy as the right to go and buy what you want, but democracy as the responsibility to be accountable to everyone around you. Democracy begins with freedom from hunger, freedom from unemployment, freedom from fear, and freedom from hatred.

Was told Celtics not interested in giving up anything for one year rental.

LOL! Now we're being conservative with our "assets"?!

The C's would be absolutely out of their mind to give up assets for this guy with no guarantee for an extension to stay in Boston.

Got a feeling CLE will be desperate enough to make a deal for a rental for one last run with Lebron.

Do you actually believe any of that or are you just playing devil's advocate?

Keep in mind, it's not up to PG where the Pacers trade him. They aren't just going to trade him to the Lakers because that's where he wants to go.

If Ainge were to trade for him, it's harder for a guy to leave a winning organization and sign for the same amount of money to go to a losing situation....in the West. He's never getting to the Finals in the West. If PG signs in Boston he will be in the playoffs next year (maybe Finals) and then turn around and tell everyone he's going to the Lakers...I don't think so.

Ainge should be leery of the Cavs offering Love. The question is how long will Bron be in Cleveland.

Offer  AB, KO, Crowder and a future pick. If PG signs extension, they add the Lakers 2018 #1. If PG doesn't sign extension, that pick becomes a 2nd round pick.

Actually this is one idea where I can get on board.  If PG doesn't resign, we give up less.  Would Larry Bird be willing to deal with Danny?  PG13 obviously doesn't want to go back to Indiana so maybe they will take a reasonable offer that is a win for both teams now.

This reminds me of the KG trade.  More likely though we will have to give up the #3 this year in the trade package for the Pacers to actually bite.

Sac hasn't won the lotto but they have been in the top 8 in each of the last 9 years.
