I think Danny is getting ready to move # 3 for Butler/George and sign Hayward.

With no Fultz in the picture now, what happens if IT can't return to last years play or close to it.

I mean , I don't trust Smart or Rosier to be a starting PG on a contending team, that wants to contend now with 3 max players under contracts (Butler/George, Hayward, Horford).

Even if he does return to last years form, I don't see it lasting more than 2 or 3 years.

What's the plan if IT goes down? I certainly wouldn't invest a max in him if I'm Danny...

I am

IT is hoping the hip issue goes away on its own .   I don't believe that will be the case .  For him to be good for a few more years , he needs to get it fixed ASAP .

he is hurting team by breaking down again during acritical part f the season.

i have zero confidence the hip will last though the season.

I would have keep Fultz for this very reason alone .

Definitely a concern...

That's why Fultz made a ton of sense, going into next season with the same group of guards could be a big issue if IT goes down. Smart isn't a starting caliber guard and Rozier still has a lot to prove.

Some reporters have claimed that our current guard rotation was part of the reason we passed on Fultz. Which feels like a commitment to signing IT to a big contract next offseason. I was happy just taking Fultz and letting IT walk in the offseason, I doubt he'll be be worth what he makes. He could decline fast if this injury impacts him at all in the future, and he'll be turning 30 near the start of the deal.

If it were a concern to Danny, then maybe we wouldn't be doing the trade with Philly?

I've heard nothing of note from anybody in the know that there is any concern for IT's longevity over this injury...too many things in this world to worry about without adding another one if not needed! :)
