Sure not giving up any BKN picks or Jaylen Brown for Jimmy Butler
Butler for Bradley, Crowder, Yabusele, 2019 MEM pick is the most id give up.
Could Brown, Crowder and Butler coexist? Yes.
Crowder is the perfect complement to the other two. Outstanding, physical team defense, guards three positions (played a lot of shooting guard in Dallas), outstanding shooter from 2, 3, and FT, showing signs of a dribble drive game, glue guy.
Butler is much less effective from the arc, but is also a bulldog defender. Butler has the rare skills of being a low-turnover play-maker and also a prolific shot-creator. Outstanding assists, outstanding turnovers - best of all, he gets to the line a LOT, and is money there. He and Crowder are perfect together, because Butler can get open shots for Crowder.
Brown goes great on the floor with either of the others. The 3% was a pleasant surprise indeed for the rookie. Ainge said the thing that really decided them on Jaylen was his versatility; he can guard quick wings, bigger wings, and maybe 4's in small lineups. The question here is: do you think he'll be the shot-creator that Butler is? And if the answer is yes, the next question is: Why do you need to trade for Butler?
I love the guy, and it's pretty exciting thinking of the Boston offense adding a playmaker like him. But on the whole I'm against it. I think Boston needs to look at bigs. Coming up they've got a handful of bigs with contract questions, so there's a potential opening there without sacrificing strength at the wings or ballhandlers.
