If all the max level guys sign elsewhere sign Zach Randolph to a 1 + 1 deal or sign Gallinari on a make-good deal (though Denver has cap space for days so they'll prolly throw him a ridiculous offer).

It's really hard to make the contract of a 20-something power forward who shoots threes, battles on the glass and switches defensive assignments with ease look bad. But it'll take big-time money for Memphis to think twice about matching offers, so someone's going to try.

At least one team that whiffs on a star will try to offset the strikeout by offering Green the salary of the alpha option he's never been.

Ballpark Contract Prediction: Four years, $76 million

Exactly, TP

Hope it's  not the Nyets!!

I like James Johnson and JaMychal Green. That would be nice secondary options after Griffin.

I don't like Patterson or Gibson at all. Is Dedmon really good? Not sure if he just looks good by the defensive system of the Spurs. Not interested in Waiters or Simmons, since they are very inconsistent.

I like the game of Monroe, but I don't see the fit with Horford unfortunately. Same way why Gallinari is not an option, then our rebounding would be even worse as it is now  ;D.

Yeah, Monroe is going to get overpaid by someone as well, there is a seriously fine line between the mediocre mid tier free agents this year. Some folks like Monroe, Olynk and Snell are going to get massively overpaid, as are Green and Otto Porter

If we completely whiff, there's always the option to take one of Portland's bloated deals off their hands and get a first in the deal.  Evan Turner, Meyers Leonard and a future #1 for Zeller, Jackson and a couple of seconds?

Why bloat your cap and take yourself out of the running for Marquee free agents for late first round picks?

If CP3 goes to the Spurs than Griffen could be a target.

If CP3 does go to the Spurs, (he has mentioned this) and Blake leaves for free agency, I could see the clips blowing up the team, making D Jordan available.

Griffin won't be a target, I don't see him as a fit with this team. If the Clips do blow up Jordan could be available, and could be a target with the 2018 Brooklyn pick

We'll have to trade someone of our young core and I don't want it to be for picks. Crowder, Smart/Bradley/Rozier and Kelly. We have a very good assets and would be real pitty not to land some big name via trade. Free agency doesn't have to be the only choice. I mean if Hayward plan fails.

Option one:  Hayward or Blake.

Option two:  Retain KO.  Look for a lower price PF/C that can rebound/defend.   Keep open the trade options during the season.

Bad option:  Overpaying a lower tier FA (including Milsap) and removing the ability to make that trade.

Mirotic, Otto Porter, Ibaka and Millsap (in descending order).

Solid contributors. Reliable FT and outside shooters. Good in defense. Very good to excellent BBIQ.

The first 2 are restricted free agents so that's most likely not an option.

Ibaka is younger and probably an upgrade over Amir, and you wouldn't have to renounce KO to get him. Not a bad fall back option.

Millsap's the kind of 4 they need up front, and he makes sense if they can get him for 3 years max. They are missing his type of player to go with Horford. They have proven chemistry, and the Celtics supporting cast is much better than Atlanta's was.

I don't know who is going to overpay Millsap to go beyond 3 years. Not at his age. Anything can happen here.

If they miss out on Hayward, they could also go the trade route for a Butler or a George if extendable.
