8-10 years is most certainly hyperbolic. It wouldn't be a stretch to say 3-5.
I don't think it is. We can already count in 3 years, so now it is 5-7 years. Out of next 5, I would say 4 is demanding, but not impossible. Untill they have Klay and Green signed, the next 3 years, they are 90% favorites to come out of the west. JVG is no fool.

They did it thru the draft..got Curry, Thompson, & Green...if Green didn't get suspended last season, they would have beat Cleveland. .and addong Durant is the icing on the cake..so I applaud the Warriors organzation

Keep in mind Klay and Green were both negative players in game 1 and they still won BIGLY

They can easily lose Klay and still be far and away the best team

Klay is so streaky.

I've put out a lot of trade ideas but after watching this Warriors team, it's no use. This is the first team I've seen that compete in the 80s and 90s. They would run circles around the Kobe and Shaq teams.

Forget all the trade ideas, our Celtics may as well take the long view and think 4 years out. Make the  #1 pick this year and next year get another top 3 pick. Let Brown, Fultz and Porter\Bamba be the super team in 5-7 years.

Unless there is a crazy trade next year we are looking at a boring regular season and Warriors\Cavs for the fourth time. Everyone else is playing for 2nd and building a team for the future. For those that like this type of NBA...enjoy it.

If Lebron was smart, he'd join the Cs.

Durant is icing? More than that. This would be a competitive series without him playing.

Klay is so streaky.

I'll take him, streaks and all. Plays hard on both sides. Still underrated.

I feel awful for Klay, he deserves more then he gets in that offense.. but in all honesty there is only so many possessions in a basketball game.
I noticed him getting visibly upset in the second quarter that he wasn't getting the ball while wide open on multiple possessions, some of which where Curry settled for contested circus threes five feet behind the line. Eventually Kerr took Klay out because he was getting so angry over it.
I'd happily take Klay on the Celtics, he is Avery with an offensive game. Imagine what kind of production Stevens could get out of him? He's perfect for our system.

I'm looking at the Warrior's salary breakdown right now and it looks like they only have 2 rotation players (Thompson and Green) under contract beyond this season. That's kind of nuts. They're going to have to sign/resign almost their entire team.

If Curry and Durant both want their max deals this summer, they'll have over $90 mil committed to just 4 players. Those are 4 pretty good players but just one more player at the MLE might put them over the cap depending on the exact numbers.

They don't care if they go over the cap if they run off 4-5 titles.

he's smarter than that.  he'd join GSW before he'd join the C's.

Lol obviously an exaggeration. But I wouldn't be surprised at 3-5 more.  with maybe 5 wins total including their one two years ago and likely this year.

I don't know San Antonio was giving them all they could handle and more before Leonard got hurt.  Add Chris Paul to the Spurs and then gut Golden State's bench to pay Durant and Curry, you'll have a very interesting series.  Remember Miami only got 2 titles with their big three.  It's the NBA any thing can happen, 8-10 years doesn't seem sustainable.

I'm changing my tune on this from a little earlier in the thread.  I think their team becomes prohibitively expensive when Klay hits free agency, and that he leaves.  That said, I think that the core of KD, Curry, and Green, combined with ring-chasing vets and one or two hits from draft picks (role-player hits, not even stars) makes them the favorite for finals appearances beyond Klay's departure.  Just not the near-lock that they currently are.
