For this offseason who we keep and who we trade?
did this game change your opinion?

I will still trade AB and keep IT, but will think twice for giving him the MAX(depend on his next playoff perfomance)
and i will not put Jae's feeling into consideration while bench him to play Hayward

And i will start brown and let him play until he fouled out or gassed

I think we let KO walk for starters, he can't d up wings on switches.   I would offer him 7 million a year tops.  He vanishes some games and other games he is great.  Amir is shot, he gets veteran minimum or he walks.   JJ has been buried so I would vet min or he walks.

Crowder would be fine off the bench or if we got a scoring four he could start.

We need a starting caliber four and a scorer who can create his own shot.   I might move several guys even IT because the team as it is composed right now ain't competing until LBJ retires or old age catches up to him ( which has not happened yet due to the PEDS).

  • Rondo doesn't believe in easy buckets...
Just solidifies my belief that a team with IT as the best player isn't going very far.

Given the comments from Wyc this week following the lottery I feel pretty comfortable saying that plan A is go after a Max free agent and draft #1 pick, with the favorites being Heyward and fultz. Watching the outcome of this series I think we need to be shifting our offseason approach towards a window 3-5 years from now, and make moves accordingly. The gap between this team and the cavs/warriors is so massive that merely adding a Gordon Heyward wont close it. Even adding Heyward and George/Butler may not be enough (and would result in a MASSIVE luxury tax bill).

So there are really two questions. Do we even want to go after Heyward? And should we resign Thomas? Both of those players are great, but they play the same positions and projected roles of our two presumed building blocks. PG and offensive option one, secondary wing scorer. If we bring in/keep those two guys does it slow the development of Fultz/Brown and is any potential loss of development worth what those two will bring to the table to a championship run in 3-5 years?

Trade Crowder for another wing scorer or agile rebounding big.

Trade Crowder & IT. Get rid of Zeller, KO, Amir, JJ, GG all the second round picks on our bench and Young.

This game or series doesn't really change anything. We already knew what we needed etc. Draft Fultz. Sign Hayward. Trade for a big that can play next to Horford. Develop Brown. Go from there.

did this game change your opinion

Not really. I saw a team trying to play tonight with nothing in the tank.  That was against a team we know is better,  that is better rested and that has had time to completely game plan the C's.  C's played with great emotion through 2 playoff series with horrible scheduling.  They are gassed.

I hoped for and expected better, but not overreacting.

You can't overreact based on one game - however, I do think that Crowder has regressed this season and I think he's probably played himself onto the trading block.  I'm not sure that he'll react all that well to Jaylen taking his minutes.
