lol nope.

No disrespect at all meant to the OP but Laimbeer was on another level from what we see from Kelly O.

I think Laimbeer physically HURT some players.

In a physical age of Basketball - he was over the top.

I get that his teammates loved him, but if they had to deal with him on the opposing side....................

Kelly Oubre is a bit...........sensitive? Soft? If he thinks that KO is over the top and his style is "dirty" then he should sit in front of Youtube and google the 1980's and even the early-mid 90s.

Kids/players these days..................

If Kelly Olynyk had ANY Laimbeer in him, he would've went after Oubre, fists flying and with a sinister smile on his face, lol.

If ANYTHING - Oubre should be mad at his TEAMMATES for not calling out "PICK!!"

I mean - us amateurs do this for our playground teammates...

I think some Wizards and Cavs fans would agree with the comparison, but I don't.

Laimbeer was the definition of a dirty player, whereas Kelly is a laid-back guy who happens to be clumsy, something I attribute at least in large part to him having been a shorter person until relatively late in his youth, so he hasn't had a long time to adjust to being tall.

I really don't think there's a malicious bone in Olynyk's body. And while his screen on Oubre was illegal, it was because he was still moving, not because he took a cheap shot.
There are two kinds of people: those who say to God, 'Thy will be done,' and those to whom God says, 'All right, then, have it your way.'

You don't have a soul. You are a Soul. You have a body.

I agree with what some others have already said, Olynyk isn't dirty he's just clumsy, so when the game gets very physical he winds up stumbling into these moments.

I strongly agree with these two bolded points.

Yes, in today's NBA, Laimbeer would be so far over the top he would get a lifetime ban. That's the only reason I think Olynyk can be called a 'modern day' Laimbeer. In today's wussified NBA, that's as close as we're going to get to anyone being Laimbeer unfortunately.

Second, THAT'S DARN RIGHT!!! TP!!! The first thing I thought of when I saw Oubre's comments is, WHAT ABOUT YOUR TEAMMATES NOT CALLING OUT THE DARN PICKS!! He should be p---ed at them, not at the opponents for setting hard picks in the playoffs.

The fact that he is getting the reputation as a dirty play is pretty ridiculous to me.

One example was the Kevin Love play but I can't really think of others.

Even in that case, and several other cases, he's just clumsy.

I read on twitter, some idiot said that Olynyk doesn't contribute anything to the team besides physical play and hustle.

I thought to myself "that is pretty much the exact opposite of the description of Olynyk as a player"

Verdict: Olynyk is not dirty or tough , just clumsy.

One memorable play (K Love) has stereotyped him as dirty but it mostly comes from people who don't watch the Celtics.

I am not 100% convinced that Kelly Olynyk isn't a smart enough guy to make some dirty play look like clumsiness. That play in the Bulls series where KO was pulling on Lopez' arm just like he pulled on Love's arm isn't just coincidence.

KO is trying to keep the tougher more athletic guys grounded by holding them down and pulling them away from the ball. He has probably been taught that. Its what an unathletic soft player that likes flopping has to do to keep his player from outrebounding him to death.

So he does it knowing with his lack of athleticism its going to look like clumsiness when its all planned. Is it dirty??? Its against the rules but you gotta do what you gotta do to win.........Nope, just clumsiness.😄
