i dont get it for philly - giving up noel for basically a late first round pick doesn't seem like a great return to me
is it bc they figured they'd lose him soon for nothing anyway?
It is precisely because they'd lose him for nothing.
I think people are overlooking Anderson. He's an excellent wing prospect.
Jeepers, you've already upgraded him from very good to excellent in this thread. I'd think you'd need some kind of shooting ability to be called an excellent wing prospect. Anderson was the 23rd pick a couple of years ago. As a college junior, he was expected to be able to contribute pretty quickly, but 1.75 seasons into his career he still couldn't get into 15 minutes of game action on a not very good team. I'm sure he'll get more minutes in Philly by default, but he has not shown himself to be anything resembling excellent.
He is an excellent wing prospect? He is 6 months older than Rozier and is shooting worse from 3 than Rozier also. Nobody would call Rozier an excellent prospect at this point either so that take is just kind of ridiculous.
The biggest benefit of him coming into the league was that he was old for a rookie and believed to be able to contribute right away. His shot has not translated to the NBA in 1 season and 2/3rd and his defense has actually been worse this year than last year.
Side note: Big of a meltdown on liberty ballers over this trade.
