Don't think Kings want a Center back unless it's a one year deal. They should be rebuilding if they move Cousins. And they already have Centers on the roster to develop.

I see Smart, Brown, Zeller and 2018 Nets pick for Cousins like the right deal for Cousins as far as C's go.

True. Good point. They may be looking for a more versatile scorer.

On the other hand, WCS and Lopez would be a good fit next to one another, and that would enlarge the role for WCS, which he reportedly wants.
Lopez isn't a good fit with WCS. WCS needs to be paired with a stretch capable big. Lopez isn't that. However if team added KO and got back McLemore that might work as the salaries still match and it's an ever sweeter deal for Cousins.

Cousins and McLemore for Brown, Smart, KO, Zeller, Nets 2018

IT/Rozier
AB/McLemore
Crowder/Green
Hordeford/JJ
Cousins/AJ

That still works for C's.

Lopez has always been a good long 2 shooter. His 3 % this year is a respectable 33% on 5 attempts a game. I think that qualifies as stretch capable.
Yet you take away what makes him good, a post scoring big man and his rebounding. And his shooting from outside is streaky also he is turn over proven when a guy closes on him as he can't pass or drive well. Which isn't the case for KO who can pass and can drive (for a big). KO is a much better fit.

But ... I don't want to trade Olynyk  :(

We probably wouldn't resign him anyways KO. I suspect he may get Turner type deal.

Same idea, different trade.

http://www.espn.com/nba/tradeMachine?tradeId=zpn3mq6

Boston gets Cousins, Singler
Thunder gets Gay, Johnson, future Memphis 1st
Kings get Kanter, Bradley, 2017 Nets pick swap, 2018 Nets pick

Boston gets Cousins, which is awesome, and they only give up Bradley and Johnson. I'm still a believer in Singler's game - he's not the only wing player who has had his confidence ruined in the Thunder organization. In the new NBA, he is on a very reasonable contract. If he can get his confidence back, he fits our system really well.

Thunder have been coveting Gay for a while to fill the scoring void left by Durant. Johnson gives them a skilled pick-and-roll role playing big man who can play at 4 or 5. They trade Kanter, but his minutes are down this year, and it seems like they don't want to play him against elite teams. They also get out of Singler's contract, who just has not been able to produce next to Westbrook. The Memphis 1st could be good for them too.

The Kings get a scoring big who can put up numbers in Cousins' void and potentially turn his career around under Joeger. The Kanter-WCS frontcourt is an interesting combo for the Kings future. Bradley fills their desperate need at 2 guard. The future Nets picks fuel their rebuild.

Celtics should have no interest trading three picks to fill out a deal for the thunder.  Sure we get cousins, but it doesn't make any sense for the celtics. To even consider including another team in the cousins trade just makes the celtics give up more assets than needed.

I honestly think you can do this without giving up the Memphis pick. I kinda like this trade.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

I agree with you. I think you might be able to do it by keeping a Brk pick and giving the Memphis to the Kings instead. Cousins only has one more year after this one.

Seriously though, if this was on the table, would a Memphis pick really hold it up if we got to keep Smart, Rozier, Brown, and Crowder?

Honestly, I'd do it. Keep almost everyone we love (except Bradley, it would really suck to see him gone), but Kyle Singler, man. And that other dude, Cousins or whatever.

I don't think Memphis is willing to accept a rebuild yet, and won't do so by 2019. Parsons and Conley will still be on the team by then, maybe Gasol too. Won't be a great pick anyways.
