The guy is going to put up some monster stats if he can stay healthy. Having him in various fantasy leagues would be wonderful for those fortunate to participate in them.
The 76ers rank 27th % wise in home attendance, only 12500 and change turned up to see them against the Magic.
I can't blame the hard working fans for not wanting to pay up just yet, wait until they have a winning product on the floor.

His fantasy impact will be limited as long as he's playing less than 30 minutes, but seeing him play 25 in his 3rd game is an encouraging sign.  Between towns, Embiid and Davis, there should be some nice big man battles over the years.

Philly back down to the bottom of the standings where they belong....

Another top 5 pick wallowing away in the coach's DNPs or with limited bench minutes and a pick 6 with a foot out the door because they drafted 3 guys at the same position.

Pathetic team construction, pathetic loser culture, and the fans aren't turning up. They can't give tickets away.

Geez the process is going well.

how much wood would a woodchuck chuck if a woodchuck was chris bosh?

noel wasn't drafted as a result of the tanking.  Okafor is trying to get healthy right now.  He will play plenty of minutes when he's back in NBA condition.

I think you could argue that trading your only all star for a draft pick is tanking, but I get what you are saying.

Looking at the W-L record and the fans in the seats is a stupid way to judge the process. That sentence should be as obvious as it sounds ridiculous.

What is Okafor's injury? Knee? He looks lost out there.

It is surprising their attendance is that bad. I kind of assumed fans would come back once they had a better product on the floor. Embiid is definitely worth watching. I do wonder if there is something to be said for the idea that once you kind of lose fans it is tougher to get them back than ever before because there are so many more entertainment options available that people can try out and get into. To be clear I think if they ever are the in finals or conference finals people will go just to be there, but there could be some lag on attendance issues because so many people got out of the habit of going to regular season games.

This is what happens when a team tanks. The fan habit of going to enjoy an NBA basketball game stops. You train your fans to wait until the team gets serious again.

Honestly, the 76ers are a solid trade away from possibly winning a few games. Embiid is for real, so is the kid they drafted and stashed a few years ago. Toss in a few solid mid-range players and they could
win 30ish.

im saying that when people call Noel a wasted draft pick they don't get it.  Noel wasn't the reward for tanking.  He was part of what lead to the reward.

The pelicans wouldn't have Anthony Davis had they not traded Chris Paul for eric Gordon and Austin rivers.   Likewise, Philly wouldn't have the potentially transcendent Embiid had they not traded holiday for Noel and saric.  And FWIW, saric looked brilliant yesterday putting up 21 points.  Saric for holiday straight-up right now... which team would say no?

The three guys Philly tanked for are Embiid, okafor and Simmons.  Two of those guys have superstar potential. Okafor, despite the overrreacting naysayers, has legit star potential.  Philly has been tremendously lucky with their tanking efforts.  They are 3 for 3.  I thought about this a lot when I watched the injury prone Marcus smart put up the worst shooting season in NBA history.  Hopefully smart makes a leap this year if he ever gets healthy.

Kind of seems like a weird question considering the 76ers were fined for being dishonest about Holiday's injuries. Add in the fact that Holiday is currently not playing because his wife may pass away from a brain tumor and it kind of seems like poor taste to talk about what a great trade it was for the 76ers and suggest hypothetical trades IMO.

Terrific trade by Philly. Scumbag move for them to hide Holliday's injury history.

most definitely, though Holiday does appear healthy this year, just too bad his wife had a tumor removed and he is rightfully with her and not playing.  I want to see what a healthy Holiday can do with Davis.
2023 Historical Draft - Brooklyn Nets - 9th pick

Bigs - Pau, Amar'e, Issel, McGinnis, Roundfield
Wings - Dantley, Bowen, J. Jackson
Guards - Cheeks, Petrovic, Buse, Rip

Likewise. Kind of surprising there were not harsher penalties on the 76ers for what they did. If it was the NFL they would have taken away the Patriots first round pick no matter who was involved in the trade.
