It seems that when we take one of the playmaking bigs out we start playing like crap offensively.

Just sat down to watch and smart hits a layup.  Didn't like what Scal was saying about Brown getting 8 minutes a game. Scal you are ok but even you say dumb **** sometimes.

I thought he said Brown would likely get 8mpg at the 4.

I know I'm not a GM or coach, but someone please explain why they resigned Zeller?

He projects as a third tier center behind Horford and Olynyk - given the injury history of both guys we kinda needed that, and as a third tier big he is fine.

You guys have to realize that in 14/15 when Zeller was given a consistent role, he played really well - had his limitations sure, but he was more then good enough for a backup center role.  Last year (with the frontcourt logjam) Zeller got buried on the bench and never really got a consistent role in the rotation.  I don't think it's a surprise that he's a little rusty.

Same is true of these young bench guys.  Rozier has barely played outside of summer league and the D-League. He was solid in the playoffs last year and he has reportedly impressed in scrimmages, so I've got no doubt his play will improve as he grows comfortable and gains experience.

This is the preseason - if there's any time for these guys to dust off the cobwebs, it's now.   Let them play, they will be fine.

it seems like we are having a tough time integrating horford in the offense still

we also suck at defending the pick and roll.
I could very well see the Hawks... starting Taurean Prince at the 3, who is already better than Crowder, imo.

you vs. the guy she tells you not to worry about

Overall, our defense has been pretty terrible today. Lots of missed assignments and bad gambles tonight.

Zeller lost his spot for sucking it up so much. He originally started off the season as a starter with Lee.

I think he's integrated fine, but the whole team left their shots at home so there's no space to work
I'm bitter.

It's strange how much Jaylen struggles to finish.

eh, i would like to see him and isaiah working together more. more pick and roll, post ups for him. no one else can score, might as well target our big Free agent

He's a trade asset if a star is available.
Why would anyone want to trade for him? Had to be somebody out there, somewhere better than that

First Half Observations:

1) Against a tough defense, it's clear that we're still working on integrating Horford offensively. Though IT has played the best offensively, both he and Horford are definitely struggling with adjusting. It'll just take some more reps together.

2) Against a better offense, the same thing as above applies. We've looked extremely lazy and sloppy all night long. There were lots of missed assignments and bad gambles. Crowder and Rozier were both really bad offensively.

3) Our bench is still struggling to get it together. It doesn't look like Rozier is quite ready to make that leap yet. We should run the ball through Marcus more, both up top and in the post. Rozier tends to kill the ball movement that the first unit establishes by trying to do more for himself than getting others involved. We really miss KO in the second unit. Zeller is just God-awful.
