I'm now scared
you should be.  People are underrating them.

is anyone really underrating them? i think most people accept that its almost a foregone conclusion they win it all.
yeah I think people are underrating them.  I keep seeing people suggesting they might not be that good and citing the struggles of other "super teams".  This is a whole nother beast.  Barring injury they have the capacity to destroy the league.

Klay, Draymond, Steph and Durant hit a combined 966 three-point shots last year. Crazy.

4 years of pain and 4 championships. Steph and Durant will never be able to get out of each other's shadow to jump into the MJ stratosphere though.

The one thing that might keep them from being as good as a lot are saying (another 70 win season and a cruise to the Championship) is the redundancy of skills. Darymond Green is most effective when he's got the ball in his hands, putting opposing bigs in unenviable positions. With both KD and Steph also wanting to make plays from time to time, does Draymond become less effective because he won't get to do what he does best as much? Or does this mean they're turning Kevin Durant, maybe the best offensive player in the NBA for the last decade, into a spot-up shooter? That would be a bit of a waste of his extended skillset.

They can stagger their minutes but who is coming off that bench that's going to be as effective? Kerr is going to have to find a way to maximize all these guys' skillsets.

On the other hand, in last night's preseason game Durant had 25 points in 26 minutes on just 11 shots.

Regular season?  Not sure.  They'll have some growing pains, IMO, & probably coast some evenings (ala 2010 Celtics).

Post season?  Pretty much.  Expect them to be unreal come spring.

Then they meet the Celtics in the Championship. Smart, Crowder, Bradley, Rozier and Horford shut down Durant, Curry, Klay and Green cold and the Cs sweep!

Well, one can always hope....  :)

Durant replaces Harrison Barnes.  Definite improvement
Zaza replaces Bogut and Speights.... Arguably worse.

I think they will have frontcourt defensive challenges.

However, they are better overall and have the whole season to figure it out, or add a big man at the deadline.

I don't necessarily think this is bad for the NBA, and I am not so sure Silver and company do either.

The league is now GS vs. everyone else. Every game Golden State plays will be against each team's top effort. The more games they win, the more people will want to beat them. This narrative promotes the 'underdogs' and that always is good for business.

They might not blaze through the regular season in the same way.  They aren't as deep.

But their top 5 is much more dangerous, as amazing as that is considering how good they were last year.

Curry, Thompson, Durant, Draymond ... I just don't know how you defend that.  I don't care who the 5th guy is.  You could put Jimmer Fredette or Shabazz Napier or something as the 5th starter and they'd still have an incredible Net Rating with those core four guys on the floor.
You’ll have to excuse my lengthiness—the reason I dread writing letters is because I am so apt to get to slinging wisdom & forget to let up. Thus much precious time is lost.

The narrative is always better when there is a villain.  I'm sure Silver & the league office will be quite happy.
