Brown is just a 19 year old rookie. I've been very impressed. Give him a bit and we are seeing what Rozier can do this year.  Brown is more than likely going to be a stud next year.

If Brown would learn to shoot a hook shot with either hand, he could easily score 20 points a game.

Lost art.

I see Len Bias at 19. All the tools, great feel for game.  Very good rebounder for position, good defense can create his own offense.

I really love the way Brown rebounds the basketball. Watching the last couple of games, it seemed to me that the rebounding is what sparked his aggression on offense. Once he grabs a board he just heads towards to the hoop instinctively. He's also found a lot of open shooters in the corners drawing in the defense this way.

25 pts, 9 reb, 2 stls vs Cavs

Still not impressed?  Kid has all kinds of moves to get to the basket.  He hasnt taken many 3 pt shots but has made around 35-38 percent.  I would like to him utilitize the dribble stop and pop more

That Cavs roster is pretty awful defensively. No size in the paint, lax D on the perimeter.

Jaylen has always been special against that type of opposition - excellent in transition and working in space.

It's when the D tightens up, the game slows down and the trees get taller that his major flaws are exposed.

Bias already have a deadly jumper in college and can shoot off the dribble. The encouraging thing is Brown have a better freshman stats than Bias.

Would have been Bias' freshman year.  Think of Len when Lefty first got him

I think he is still learning how to adjust in the air.  He has really good strength and hops and an assortment of moves he can make.  He's rough around the edges though.  I still see it with him though. He's a good prospect.  He needs to just grow and get stronger.

Jaylen is in the right place to become one of the more dominant players in the league. He's got a great supporting cast. This Celtics team n its fans need to be ready to handle one of the futures best players we've ever seen in green

I wanted to get opinions here in brown's handle.

It is awesome for a 19 year old with his size and speed.  Huge weapon that we haven't had for some time...maybe ever.

Nice arsenal.   Liked the off-hand inside-out dribble to spin move especially.   Under control, even got the subtle clearout with his elbow when he went up for the shot.  That move takes some practice without a doubt.  Encouraging.

Kids got potential.

My other thought about jaylen other than that he has been hurt, is that yes the celtics give him a great chance to develop. Think about who he was starting with, mickey and yabu. Yabu isnt confident to shoot really in SL and mickey contrary to popular belief was left wide open due to his inability to shoot. This means whenever he did get free he always met opposition at the rim.

In the nba, this might not be the same. Horford and olynyk are great shooters, and amir has shown in the past that he can hit once in awhile. Ideally defenses wont be able to pack it in against jaylen. This was also evident at cal where they were all terrible at 3pt shooting, and played slowly.

This is in no way saying he will be a world beater, but I think it  gives him a better shot at developing if the paint isnt closed off everytime he goes in.

I really don't see much weakness or limitations to his game.  He needs to get those shots and might not be a durant or kobe or jordan level talent but he's quick, athletic, can handle the ball, has an assortment of shots and ways he can score already and plays at both ends. He can post up.  He can slash.  He can shoot over people.  He's a good decision maker with the ball.  Good rebounder and defender, etc..

C's need to be careful trading Brown or Smart.  I wouldn't do it.
you dont see many weaknesses? Hes a poor shooter, he plays with his head down most of the time, he is a terrible finisher. he leaves his feet to much on defense. Thats just off the top of my head.

Same, TP, although I'd add ball handling and decision making to your list, as well.  Sigh.

61 free throws in 6 summer league games. I remember watching Paul Pierce in his prime and when his shot wasn't falling, he'd just get himself to the free throw line over and over again and get his rhythm there. Sure enough, the shots started falling after that.

Brown isn't anywhere near the shooter Pierce was but if he can get himself to the line with regularity its going to help him a ton.

you didn't like his decision making skills in summer league?

Were we watching the same games?

I disagree on the ballhandling. The decision making was not very good. I did think his ballhandling ability was actually quite good.
