Age wise Noel is intriguing to go with the young core. We would have the #1 defense in the league.
Problem is Between Noel, Brown, and Smart there all non shooters.

Blake will be 28 next year, and would bring needed offense and playmaking and rebounding. Really solid get.

Milsap will be 32 next year, solid player on both ends, but age may push him to the bottom.

Blake Griffin for his age.  I love Paul Millsap, but he's getting up there.

Griffin's injuries and reliance on athleticism worry me, but when he's healthy he's an MVP caliber player.  I think he may be capable of doing more with the ball than he's shown playing off Chris Paul.

Griffin and Horford wouldn't be an ideal pairing, but it could be pretty tough for opponents to defend.

Skill wise Noel is not even close to be in the same class as the other two.
But- he is young, and may come at lower cost... but who know everybody is getting a max these days.

Blake Griffin.

Doesn't getting Millsap basically make us the "New Atlanta Hawks". It would be Horford and Millsap, along with Isaiah Thomas who essentially replaces Jeff Teague.

(1) Blake
(2) Millsap
(3) Noel

Large gaps between each guy. Between Blake and Millsap due to age. Between Millsap and Noel because Millsap is a better fit for this roster next to Horford.

Not that it's realistic, but Westbrook could be another favorite FA Target. I'd rather Griffin but Westbrook is also a possibility.

Westbrook is probably a more realistic FA Target than any of them.  He'll likely be looking to get out of Oklahoma too.   I just don't think he fits on this roster right now.  We'd need to make other moves.

Westbrook could move to SG, the question is, can he co-exist with IT on the floor. Also, I reckon it means goodbye Bradley or Smart.

I think if we are talking about REALISTIC, our likelihood from 1-5 (1 being extremely realistic, 5 being very unrealistic):

(1) Gordon Hayward
(2) Nerlens Noel
(3) Russell Westbrook
(4) Blake Griffin
(5) Paul Millsap

Out of that Westbrook or Griffin are the ones I hope the Celtics get. Not too high on paying the others the max.

I sure would be happier signing Westbrook outright than trading Smart, Brown, and both BKN picks for him. We saved our 'assets' this year by signing Horford rather than trading for him. Maybe we will have the same fortune in getting Blake or Westbrook.

Don't forget about Blake Griffins defense. Why does nobody bring that up. That guy has t-rex arms.

Westbrook moves the needle. Blake doesn't work next to Horford. Go all in for Russell Westbrook in a trade this year and convince him to stay.

I said Millsap, but Griffin might be good, too. Millsap is a team player who can do everything.
Uniting him with Horford again makes sense--they would be better than Atlanta was with them because they have a better backcourt. Griffin isn't quite as versatile, but he's more explosive and more physical. Better scorer. Millsap might be better rebounder, though Griffin plays in Jordan's shadow.

Noel is still developing. He can't shoot, but can block shots and rebound. He's getting stronger every year. Pretty frail when they drafted him. Then they had to wait for a year on his knee.
Still gets hurt too often. Good defensive player, but not that durable yet.

I don't know if they can get Noel from Philly at this point. God knows Philly is overloaded with bigs. That Holmes kid might be another good one. They have to deal, but we don't have Dunn to deal with them. I don't know if they would take Rozier or Jackson for him. Both looked pretty good yesterday. It would probably take more than that.

If there's a trade for Westbrook, it should be Thomas + a low first rounder. Keeping both doesn't make sense.
