Amir, Horford, and Jerebko all put up around 19-20% Defensive Rebounding Percentage last season.

That's not great, but it's just fine.

The fourth guy likely to be in the frontcourt rotation, KO, was around 16-17%, which is mediocre, but won't kill the Celts.

Not having a single rebounder who can really dominate the boards on his own does make it harder to go small without giving up boards.  It helps to have wings and guards like Smart, Crowder, Rozier, and Thomas who are all competitive on the boards.

I like Festus from Warriors .

He's mentally questionable and his knees are even worse.

So, no thanks.

Also, the way this offseason is going someone is bound to dump an unreasonable amount of cash on his lap.

I think Crowder and the guards will help a lot with rebounding. I expect Crowder, Brown, Rozier and Smart to really hit the glass this year.

The Celtics were an above-average offensive-rebounding team last year, and below-average defensive rebounding team.  All in all, near average overall.  They'll probably be similar this year.  It is not a major concern.
We were 26th in defensive rebounding last year. Sullinger was our best rebounder and we are replacing him with a lesser rebounder in Horford (he's is literally better at everything else). Not only do I think it's going to be a concern, I think it's might be the C's biggest weakness next year.
DKC:  Rockets
CB Draft: Memphis Grizz
Players: Klay Thompson, Jabari Parker, Aaron Gordon
Next 3 picks: 4.14, 4.15, 4.19

I do think Al's rebounding woes are a little overblown but stats are stats; we were already weak in this aspect as a team, and we theoretically got worse. Could be a telling sign of what Danny is looking for next.

However, we're replacing 23 minutes of Sullinger with 30+ minutes of Horford. Also, if Johnson is mostly healthy this season, I'm hoping we'll see more stability (and thus rebounding) from the front court.

Go get Okafor and have Horford teach him how to rebound and play lowpost defense.

Now you're talking. We have too many guards, trade someone, not IT, or Bradley for OKafor. Smart would be my choice!!

So do you think Horford will be a rebounding upgrade over the other 7 minutes that Sullinger wasn't on the court that Horford is replacing?

Johnson could be the answer, he had some months last year where he rebounded at a high level. He also rebounded 25.6 of available misses in the playoffs. If he can do that there won't be much of an issue.

However I'm not even sure Johnson will be the starter. Personally I'd rather start Olynyk, even though it doesn't help our rebounding much.

Johnson will be the starter, book it. And yes, I think that 7 minutes of Horford will be an upgrade over the Jerebko/Zeller/Olynyk combo we trotted out for these last season. Also, I suspect Horford's numbers may go up slightly now that he's no longer paired with Milsap. I mean, I may be overly optimistic here, but I don't think it will be a great issue.

Taj Gibson is an above average rebounder, probably as good as Horford and Amir. He's on an expiring contract and Chicago might be looking to trade him. Wonder if Danny could swing a deal to bring him in for a year.

We have the cap room for him outright (assuming Sullinger and Zeller are renounced, which they should be with a Gibson acquisition).  He has made noise in the past about minutes, and I'm not certain how many would be available.  But I like frontcourt depth.

Huh? Okafor is a terrible rebounder.
