So... Can Portland keep Crabbe?

I believe they have his Bird Rights, so yeah.
Isaiah, you were lightning in a bottle.

  • Sometimes there's no sane reason for optimism
As others have said, super-psyched for ET, but glad we aren't paying him that much. It's Smart's turn to be the primary ball-handler in the second unit - we have to see what we have with him, Rozier, and, of course, Brown.

Thanks for the memories, ET, and good luck!

How will E.Turner work next to two ball-heavy guards like Lillard and McCollum?
He won't. Unless they have him handle more than them lol.

Unless he suddenly develops a 3 point shot.

Good for him! Enjoyed his time with the Celtics. We do need another secondary ball handler though. Or maybe despite not being the ball handler, Jaylen Brown can emulate the drives to the basket with his quicker first step and effectively provide the same kind of secondary threat.

On paper we're currently a significantly worse team than the one that finished the season.  And I don't think favored to sign anyone we've been targeting.
Not that I'm panicking or nothing.... :)

Congrats to ET.  He was a great Celtic while he was here and I wish he could have stayed, but he got a great offer.

Now everyone can see WHY Danny was maximizing flexibility.  Look at these deals.

Interesting take - argues we can now sell Turner's ascension to free agents. Two years ago, nobody wanted him, and now he's worth $70M. Stevens can do amazing things!
Recovering Joe Skeptic, but inching towards a relapse.

Portland is about to be a pretty good team.

They had trouble executing in the 4th against Golden State. This is where ET can come up big for them.

We need an Evan Turner appreciation thread.  He was arguably one of the 2 best players on this team since the playoff run two seasons ago and yet people here acted like he was garbage.  Losing him without making a significant addition can hurt us more than I think a lot of people realize.

Congrats Turner way to go. He gave us a bargain and then got paid. It worked well for both parties.
Kudos to Turner for working on defense and adjusting to Stevens system.  Double kudos to Stevens for using Turner to the utmost of his abilities.  Crazy kudos to Ainge on this one.  As others stated, Turner should be taking them out for dinner every time he is in Boston for rest of his career.
